I am putting a business site together, and I am wondering how do I make the photos in the site load faster? They seem to load much slower.
Thank you

This is a basic function in most graphic design programs. The smaller the image size (dimensions), the faster it will load. Same goes for sacrifices in quality, though done properly, lowering an image's quality will be almost unnoticable to the eye. Can you post a sample of one of these photos? I'll see how small I can make the file size with acceptable quality, and you'll have some idea of what you can expect from the rest of your pictures :) Voxxit 01-05-2005, 01:16 AM http://www.netmechanic.com/ Torith 01-05-2005, 02:16 AM Just wanted to say thanks to the_pm for helping me! Just have to figure out why my computer is not changing to .jpg.... :) . I will download the ZIP in a few! You're welcome, Torith :) To alleviate confusion if anyone was wondering, the problem here was that the images were .bmp files, good for print, bad for Web. I converted them and sent her a link. 90+ kb. of image files are now about 10 kb. The lesson here for Web dev novices is never use .bmp files in your finished online product. |
