Hi, I was wondering.
How can I setup a sub-domain to work WHM.
Can I setup a sub-domain with cpanel and such, if so how?
Thanks.

When creating an account just use subdomain.domain.com for the Domain field.

You can setup a subdomain the same way that you setup a "normal" account. It shouldn't cause any problems.

if I just enter a sub-domain, do I have to go create that sub-domain in my Cpanel?

no you do not. It will create the account under a subdomain. If you access the cPanel for that domain you will not see it there. Make sure that if you make a subdomain for an account that you have already bought the domain name and it is pointing to your nameservers.

I dont like WHM because the fact if a customer does not have a domain and they get a subdomain then later on they buy one you have to contact your server provider and have him do it manually through root or backup the account and re-do it. Or is there another option?

You can change the domain by going to "modify account." However, that function has been known to be a bit buggy at times. I haven't had any trouble with it, but the bug is well documented.

what you do is allow parked domains. The user can park the domain and point it toward his subdomain temporarily. That way the domain won't be waisted. Then when the admin finally responds to your request he/she will have to manually change it which should not be a major problem. With good support it can all be done in half an hour (from the users request).

Subdomain created in WHM has Cpanel access too?? This is new.... i didnt know that is possible. I always thought you can only get a subdomain using the main domain cpanel. =))

May I add to that? - In the email to the support team include that you have set it up as a parked domain so the support team does not experience errors while making it the primary domain. They would have to delete the parked domain from your account and modify the account after to change the primary domain to the old parked domain.
I hope this makes sense.

Yea guess I left that part out. lol.
Make sure you notify support like WebInsanity said or when the sysadmin tryies to add it he will get an httpd error saying the domain already exists. The sysadmin will remove the domain from your parked domain tool in cPanel and change the main domain with the WHM.
