subj: Linux Tech Networks : New Years Specials!!
Greetings,
My name is Tom Whiting, I've been running and administrating Linux systems for almost ten years, and am now offering my services for a limited amount of clients. Here's just a brief overview of what I do for clients (certainly not all inclusive, but a general overview):
System Monitoring(with the proper packages)
This involves your server being monitored on various ports to check and see if it's alive, and if it's not, me going in and finding out what the problem is (http, mysql, dns, etc), as well as load, memory, network and drive space reports being sent out, and made available to all monitoring customers through the ltn-monitor website. In addition, system resources (drive, cpu, processes, connections) are monitored and if outside of acceptable parameters, I am notified immediately via cell.
System Scan
I run system scans on a quite frequent basis, of all of the servers I administrate. If there's something lacking, or behind, I make recommendations for upgrades (or in some cases just upgrade). Scans will be available for customer browsing in the next few months.
Software Installation
As a rule, most Linux Software is unsupported, as there are always variables to configure and install, however exceptions have been made and will always be so. Contact Me (http://www.linux-tech.net/contact.php) for more information regarding this.
System Security
I offer both monthly and one time security and packages, fixing various exploits, bugs, recovering servers from hack attempts, IF it can be done
System Administration
I provide various systems administration tasks from log checking to software updates to error debugging (ie: application won't start)
Programming and Scripting
As a general rule, this is not included in the Systems Administration package, however development and programming rates can be discussed.
24/7 On Call
My SMS is given to all clients on signup , and is active 24/7. This is ONLY for emergency usage.

In almost ten years, I've managed to gain a better than working knowledge of Linux and the like, and I offer those services to clients at a rather affordable rate. What exactly do I do for clients? Whatever needs done as it relates to system settings (not personal websites, or professional websites). Installing, upgrading various packages, performing security setups ( no server can ever be 100% secure online, though I do my best to ensure that the major stuff is covered), solve problems with servers and the like.
