Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have just started up an account at MCHOST and they provide me with my own Nameservers. My DNS is on a .ca domain name, and I went to transfer my domains at Direct Nic to my DNS Servers and it told me that the domain servers are not registered. Can anyone advise me as to how to proceed.
Thanks

You'll need to register your nameservers before you will be able to use them with anything.
See if this helps:

Thanks for your help, unfortunately Directnic only allows you to do the DNS servers with Domains you have registered with them, and they dont do .ca .
I am wondering if there is a global site that you register your host records with...
Thanks

Your registrar should have a method to allow you to add your "foreign" nameservers to the other TLDs.
If you cannot get them to do it for you, send me an email or PM me with your nameservers and which registries you would like to have them listed with and I'll see what I can do to help you.

If the DNS Servers aren't registered that means MCHOST didn't register them for you yet. Or did they just give you two IPs to bind your nameservers to? and leave registering them to yourself?

MCHost gives the reseller the nameserver information (Ips & names to use) so that the reseller can register them with their registrar.
