I'm wrestling with billing functionality and need advice.

Choices are use third party like IBill or have my own cc processor and merchant account. While i have visited many hosting sites i am yet to see anyone using a 3rd party like ibill. Is that because it looks non professional?

having you own merchant account sounds good but the recurring is a nightmare.

who does alabanza use for automation banking? probably good idea to set up regular merchant account with that company.
Similar question for VDI hosts.

thanks

Alabanza uses Cybercash for their automatic processing. You would still need your own merchant accounts, but they can in most cases interface with Cybercash as long as they are "Internet enabled" merchant accounts. Check with your bank.

Hello
I use Worldpay.com which is really just an online payment gateway for an existing merchant account although it looks like Instabill etc.
Its quite cheap at average 5% per transaction.

I looked into Cybercash for my other site. It seems very difficult to setup!

Cybercash is semi integrated into the Alabanza billing systems, so setup within that environment is pretty straightforward. It gets a bit hairy when you need to use the API's for development outside of Alabanza'a DSM, but once you undestand the calls, all is managable.

I use Instabill, 10% is still reasonable.

We have a full merchant accout and use cybercash with Alabanza as well. The automation has help out a great deal with recurring billing. We have not had any problems with it but some here have posted about problems with their billing. It was either a problem with cybercash or Alabanza I'm not quite sure. I would do a search on <cybercash> to find their comments.
