I'm looking to get a 19" or 20" LCD monitor, but I'd like to find the one with the best image quality. Opinions?

If you're doing graphics, you'll have to spend a lot of money to get one that comes even close matching the quality of a CRT... :)

"best image quality" CRT is the best as stated above.

Yep. LCD is very very bad for graphic design.
Get a CRT or a Plasma.

According to the people at PC World, for imaging quality, TFT is better, but for gaming, CRT is better.

So, judging by that, TFT would be best for graphic design. And I can say, from personal experience, my old TFT (which, unfortunately broke), did have a much clearer and crisper image quality than my current CRT...

The folk who work at PC World are, generally, idiots tbh....

Whoever told you that needs strung-up.

Yeap. Everyone knows that LCD displays are terrible, and also if you did not knew this, it has been proved that it is even more dangerous to your health than the good old CRTs.

I strongly disagree,

LCDS are much clearer, easier on your eyes and have much more crisper image quality then a CRT.

CRT's are only better at the refresh rates in games.

Some high end LCDs are very close to CRT refresh rates now.

LCDS have come down in pricing, and are becoming very affordable for a normal customer.

Go with a LCD.
Just make sure you have a ratio of 600x1 or 700x1 You can't go wrong, plus with the digital input on some lcds as an option things just come to life.

AF, either you're being sarcastic, or you need to quit the rhetoric. What proof do you have to back up anything you've said?

Both CRTs and LCDs should be safe for your health, but CRTs have a greater chance of emitting radiation.

Does anyone know the quality of the BenQ LCD displays?

They are selling them dirt cheap here in Toronto - $288 for the 17" FP731 !

I think my desltop would look nice with a few of those!
