I run a domain that host people for free based on certain qualities, skills and circumstances. The domain is new, opened only a year ago. I've only had one experience with web hosting, and that is with my current host, hosting4less.com, who I have had a support or technical problem with (I was lucky with my first host being so good). However, my budget has changed and I now longer afford to stay with them and as a result, set out on a month long search for a host.
So here's my dilemma. I have found a host, nirmani.net, after a lot of research that I find suits my needs (it's a well priced custom package from them). However with my current host (hosting4less.com) I have full control of my domain via an online control panel (Linux based) that allows me to create FTP accounts (very important to me) and POP3 accounts whenever I want to. I probably takes me all of two minutes to do it. However, with this new host I was all set to go to, I have learned that I will have to email them to get the account set up. They say it will take them two hours do so. I am not sure yet whether I will have to contact them to get other things set up.
I am not sure whether this new host is such a good idea anymore. Does anyone else also have to email their host to get their account set up? Do others think this is reasonable? And do any of you have any advice for a novice like me. Should I accept this deal or not in your opinion? Thank you. -Ves
