Hi,
I am considering starting to accept credit cards on my website but I am unsure on exactly what I need. I will not be processing much by it so I do not want something to expensive as it would be a waste of money. I am a GSP so places suck as 2CO were not of very good use due to their TOS not allowing GSP's. I know of worldpay but that is a bit to expensive and all the companies I can find that I think would be good for my only allow USA clients.
I think I will just need a 3rd party proccessor for now but correct me if I am wrong. However does anyone know of a good place in that accept GSP's and UK clients? Even if they may see a little expensive can you still recommend them please.

You could try using PayPal for your billing gateway. You can check out the UK site by visiting http://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_home
If you are looking for an affordable billing client, I would recommend ClientExec as it has a one time fee of $99. I also know of phpCOIN, however I have never tried it.

I am allready using paypal but I want to expand to accepting credit cards properly rather than using PayPal. As for a billing module I allready have one it is just a merchant account and processor that I need.

So does anyone know of some good places for UK 3rd party processing or merchant accounts?

Try Nochex or possibly Firepay. I've heard a couple of good things about Nochex, but don't have any experience with either.
Moneybookers might be ok too.

Those are not really the type of things I am looking for. I am looking for either a processor that I put a link on my site and it takes them to a page on the proccessors server where they enter their client info like wolrdpay and 2CO have or a full merchant account in which I can integrate it into my site but I do not want to pay to much.

Hi talkster
I'm not familiar with how GSP's work, who do you need to accept payments from - players, advertisers, ?? lol forgive my ignorance .. i'm just trying to understand why the others don't like your type of account.

Its because their can often be chargebacks I guess which is why a lot of people either dont accept them or put them on a high level account. At least I think thats why anyway.

I see ... well alot of processors consider ANY hosting as a somewhat high risk venture so in certain cases, it helps to use one that offers individual attention to clients. Rather than lumping an entire category of vendors into one big hr group, they can take each case on its own merits.
Since you are in the UK, Barclays might be a good option for obtaining a merchant account, or is it 3rd party processing you are interested in?

For now I would just prefer 3rd party as I will not be processing that much by credit cards.
