:: Free proactive server monitoring (ping + 3 services)
:: Free KVM/IP Access to All Servers
:: Free Remote Reboot Port
:: Non-DOS-prone IRC is allowed (Please inquire if interested)

Server Hardware
All servers were designed and constructed by our good friends at Rackmount Micro!
- Servers use only Intel-class CPU's (no AMD)
- Hard Drives built by Maxtor (longevity)
- Kingston Reg ECC DDRAM
- On board 10/100/1000 NIC (Dual CPU servers have dual NICs)
- Multi-blower internal assembly providing maximum cooling

Data Center:
We have a custom-built security cage within the RagingWire Data Center running on a Cisco/Foundry network. The facility is located on the US west coast in Sacramento, California -- hundreds of miles from the nearest active fault line.
Be hosted amongst several other floorspace tenants including:
- NVIDIA
- Logitech
- Hitachi Data Systems
- Flextronix
- FrontPorch

Security:
- Our cage is secured by a cylindrical custom-cut locking sliding door, 1 1/2" square mesh and sealed feeds.
- The building exterior is monitored by stills and video cams.
- The outer perimeter is secured by a 24/7 onsite security staff, security cameras, video cams, card/PIN codes and man traps.
- The floor itself is protected by card/PIN codes, man traps, biometric scanners, retina scanners and patrolling security personnel.

Bandwidth:
We utilize a BGP mix of 3 premium bandwidth providers:
- AT&T
- MCI( UUNET)
- Sprint.
No Tier Three providers or providers known for problematic connections. All 3 providers are included in the Internap bandwidth mix.
Our bandwidth usage is no mystery. It can be viewed by the public at:
http://mycalhost.com/rtg/web/view.php?rid=1&iid=8

Uptime:
Our network has held a solid 100% uptime outside scheduled system maintenance windows for the last 3 years.
DoS attacks are mitigated via the CalHost Watchdog Program monitored 24/7 by a team of Cisco and Foundry-certified engineers.

:: SPECIALS ::

The special is simple:
ALL SERVERS ARE 15% off for the LIFE OF THE ACCOUNT. This is the same discount provided to resellers with 20 or more machines. Sale is restricted to servers purchased during the sales period, scheduled to end January 30, 2005.

Act quickly since we are running VERY LOW on most server models.

And of course, all questions and inquiries are welcome. All servers come with 1000GB bandwidth and per-U and partial-rack colo inquiries are always welcome escorted in the cage itself or unescorted (subject to standard per visit security procedures) in a dedicated locked cabinet just outside the cage, but still on the same floor.

Thanks!

All servers come with 1000GB bandwidth

There's your answer :)

Class C IP's:
A Class C is same as requesting additional IRC IP's:
75c each (254 max)

DoS Protection:
DoS protection is provided via IP nullrouting at our edge routers, a series of Riverhead appliances at our Distribution Layer and Cisco firewalls at the Customer Layer.
- SPECIAL NOTE -
DoS Protection is not a free ride to get a server and start getting constantly hammered by (D)DoS attacks. Good DoS filtering takes a substantial amount of bandwidth and we do not tolerate problematic customers. If you have further questions about DoS attacks, we welcome you to email us for further in-depth details.

Bandwidth:
All servers are given 1000GB bandwidth. Cross connects with private dedicated bandwidth is available at $45/month ($300 setup) and is made available via $15/128mbs or $150/1mbit with no inherent limit (prepaid of course).

And one more thing:
Bandwidth is brought into the facility via 2 separate fiber feeds and sports N+5 redundancy (no modules have less than N+1 [Necessary + 1]).

Good question. Thanks!

I'll fix the key, but the main website is at:

http://WWW.CALHOST.COM

MYCALHOST.COM is simply a control panel for our customers. :)

do you offer SCSI drive?
any change to eliminate the CPanel installation fees?

aplawson

Cpanel installation can be done by us or you. If you want us to install it, I'd be happy to waive the install fee we normally charge. It's a NRC anyway.

As for SCSI, not yet supported. Sorry!

Do you offer Cpanel?
How much if I need Celeron 2.0GHz and Cpanel?

aplawson

Try: 204.94.92.1 (one of our routers)

CPanel is available for $29/month. Next month I heard we will be obtaining our own internal licenses which are much much cheaper considering we are now the sole provider of dedicated servers for the RagingWire data center itself.

Oh- I forgot- all servers are on their own private VLAN as well.

when I try to order the Dual Xeon, it redirects me to Pentium IV Server all the time.

And how can I get the 15% discount? Is there any coupon for it? thanks

Alright- I'll check that out and get that working this afternoon. To get the discount, mention WHT in the Special Notes section when ordering. Accounting knows what to look for with all new orders through the end of the sale.

Note to everyone reading: This fella brings up a good point. Think about it-- $199 Dual Xeon = $169 after -15% discount. That's $169 for a Dual Xeon with 1024mb Reg ECC DDRAM and 80GB HDD with premium bandwidth! You just can't beat that.

Is it possible to order 2 servers and have them set up as 1 running for Apache and 1 running for mySQL? Is it free or any additional fees for that? Will the bandwidth be combined together? Can you set up RAID0 for the server? Thanks a lot :)

If you want 2 servers, you can absolutely have one running Apache and one running mySQL (licensing for mySQL and Apache are both free under GPL by the way).

If you want, I will go ahead and place both servers behind a small 4 port switch then plug the small switch into the switch port where your VLAN is assigned. That way you can have 2 servers talk to each other and limit any outgoing bandwidth.

We're small enough where I really doubt that will be any issue. I do that for some folks who have multiple servers.

The only thing is that bandwidth monitoring tool watches each switch port- not each server IP per se. Both servers will have combined bandwidth in your charts. If you're okay with that, so are we. :)

And no, no fees for that (as part of this special anyway).

As for RAID0 (drive mirroring), not all servers come with 2 HDD's. If you get a server with 2 HDD's already or purchase an additional HDD separately, we will configure it however you want.
It will be, however, a software RAID configuration. Just an FYI.
