Hello Everybody !

I am Abhishek from Indus Net Technologies.

We are put together a small web site testing team. Actually our internal website testing team expanded during last few months due to our ISO 9001 certification process.

I wanted to have some opinion before i launch this service in public.

We plan to offer browser compatibility test, resolution test, usability test, load time test, navigation, links, and lots of other things that we might miss etc

Do you guys think that if such a service is offered at a very economical price say $50 for a full day testing by a professional designers based on extensive check lists, we have a market for this.

We have ready check lists, process, design glitches etc documentted and our testers working on them for last few months for internal projects.

I am posting it here, so that if someone would like to offer any business alliance can also contact us :) Let me know if you can offer us your suggestions. We would also like to hear more ideas that you would like to be included in our testing process.

My email address is talash@talash.net

Thank you guys for reading this post !

Regards,
Abhishek Rungta

Sure talash, count me in :)
So is it a check list, or more like a review? How many browsers do you need? I have probably 4-5 (Opera, IE 6, 5.5, one or two netscapes...). I would find more if needed. Anyway, let me know.

I worked with you on whatuwant, so I guess you know I'm not totally new to this.

i think its good to have site speed test from all over the world :) its know fact that the nearest server to you, the fastest the access will be ... so i just want to know people from others site of the world would bw how slow .. let say i can access my site in 2 sec ... maybe people in france only can go the fastest ever .. 10 sec ...

anyway .. this will need many people get involved .. maybe just pick 2 - 3 person from Asia ... and 2 - 3 more from others country ...

anyway .. just my opinion only ...

Speed test from different points of the world would be a good idea.
And of course you'll need a "approved by" logo :)

Hi,

Having site tested across the globe for time to load is a nice idea. But i think that this will increase the cost for the customer for each site test.

And just to clarify, i am not planning a review service. I am planning a paid site testing service, which can test and report problems in the site from usability, etc. If the client wants, we can then possibly extend the service to fix it or even include suggestions free of cost as how to fix that kind of error.

It will be for web design companies and other site owners to get an idea if their site is as per the rules :)

Regards,
Abhishek

I actually find it hard to believe there's a market for this kind of stuff...

Not at all ... there could be a big market ... just take a look at the quality of a large number of websites that are out there. :)

Hi Wolfy,

I also think that there can be a great market. Thats why i am planning to take this risk with a complete team devoted on this job and offering at a lower price. May be people will come more once they start realising the importance of testing before they feel ambarassed due to a comment from their client or so.

I really hope to get my first 10 clients :) Once i have that, i dont think it will be difficult to convince others to get an extensive test done for as little as $50.

Again, i would like to underline - it wont be a site review, it will be a complete site test.

Regards,
Abhishek
