Hi Guys,

I am sure many of you have sites hosted on readyhosting. I wonder anyone can explain what is going on there? There was an excellent support until 10 days ago and now all the tickets are unanswered. Any hope for the future from them.

They are probably one of the worst hosts here as of late. Check out the search function at the top for faster results. Or select the below links:

Well,

Speaking of 1 years experience with them I dont agree. They were excelent until 10 days ago. Some network problems and limited support people should have caused these unanswered calls.

Why they were excellent:

Cheap
Always responded in maximum 3 days with a fix.

What I wonder is, could someone get an update on the latest status of their network?

Cheers

 3 days is a pretty damn long time. Are you that used to bad service?

Readyhosting were pretty OK up until early last week. I've got 5 customer accounts with them and one went down last week so I contacted tech support about 6 times and I still haven't got a reply. Their trouble ticket system also went belly-up for the best part of a week.

I've already cancelled one account and will be moving the rest of tem ASAP.

That's the worst customer service I have ever seen, well since I dealt with the dreadful catalog.com but that's another story!

I get a busy signal every time I called. They should at least post something on their web site. I feel totally ignored.

Where have you moved your site to? I'm seriously considering moving too.

Hi
I have been hosting about 11 domains with ready hosting the last 2 years. I did not face any such problems before. their support was not perfect but for me i did not need real support as the downtime was about 2 or 3 hours then my sites was back to work.
This time it is about 13 days and my 2 main sites is down. i have used 2 temporary domains and redirected my domains to them. I have sent several emails , tickets and 2 phone calls for 90 minutes each then the result was nothing up till now. So i have sent to them to cancle 8 of my domains and i hope this also will not take other 2 weeks to be done.
By the way i have transfered my temporary domains to gearhost.com (http://gearhost.com ) that was so fine in their support but they seems to be slow in their connection " not sure yet, maybe my connection"
the other host i have also tried was m6.net (http://m6.net) that i have setup my site with them 9 days ago but it was working only for one day and at this moment it is still down.
any one could recommand win2k host with sql

I've moved one domain (the one that is down on readyhosting ) to eryxma.com

I'm just testing the water with them. If they seem OK I will probably move more accounts over to them.

But then again readyhosting were reliable enough for the first 6 months i hosted with them and then all of a sudden they fall to pieces.

It's diificult to pick hosting companies and it's not getting any easier.

I never figured this out: when choosing a host, how does the platform (Unix, Win2K, Linux) matter?

Thanks

Had (emphasis on the past tense) approximately 6 sites with Ready Hosting. On a scale of 1 to 10, they were a 9.5 until early February. At that time, sites were up and down on a regular basis. Clients were unable to retrieve e-mail. It became a complete nuisance.

I attempted to open a support ticket, but the system didn't work. I attempted to call them for information, but the line remained busy all day. Today was the first time I was able to get through the line. I tried to reach the Billing department as I have sent several e-mails to cancel accounts and generate a refund for one, but held on for over 1 hour before giving up.

I originally signed up with Ready Hosting because of the great value -- $99 for one year with ASP and Cold Fusion at my fingertips was just plain awesome. If not for the recent problems, I would have stayed.

My biggest gripe with them is their lack of response and their misrepresentation. Their site contained a statement saying that the recent server problems were resolved. That wasn't true. I sent at least six e-mails and received no responses. I have sent messages to billing and support -- doesn't seem to matter.

Oh, yeah. I held on past their closing time and they left my call in queue. How's that for caring?!?

Don't know what the continue problem is, but right now they've left me in a bind as I'm paying out of my pocket for a site that I moved to another hosting company. I hope I get a response from them soon, as their site states that pro-rated refunds will be generated upon cancellation.

Moved two sites from ReadyHosting and one from Omnis to GearHost and everything's been great thus far. Hopefully, this bliss will continue.

I have recived this reply from ready hosting and i think they are going to be working fine soon
Status Update from Ready Hosting, Inc.
As many of you are aware, at the beginning of this month our network was
attacked by a hacker. We lost two web servers and four instances of SQL out of
the 100 servers we currently host and were not able to recover the backups we
had in place. Since the attack we are working on upgrading our backup system,
firewall and phone system to ensure this does not happen in the future.

We were in the process of upgrading our Raid V backup system to a new tape
system when the attack happened. Because of the in-between process we were
unable to recover the data on the servers that we lost. The new backup system
is now functioning completely and we have fully tested the system to ensure that
all backups are recoverable to avoid this type of situation in the future.

Furthermore, we are in the process of upgrading our network infrastructure to
include a brand new, top of the line firewall system. This system consists of
two dual Pentium III 1GHZ machines with 2 Gig of RAM. These firewalls are being
load balanced using state of the art hardware load balancing switches. This will
not only improve the quality of service given to our customers by offering a
higher level of security, but will help to increase the speed of the network due
to the load balancing.

In addition, we are also upgrading our phone system and support staff once
again to ensure that all customer requests are responded to in a timely and
efficient manner. For those of you who have received multiple busy signals and
long hold times when calling our company, we would like to apologize for this
great inconvenience. We have had our staff working around the clock to catch up
with each customer’s concerns and requests. We will be operating as normal by
the beginning of next week. We appreciate your patience while we continue to
implement the necessary upgrades.

We realize the last couple of weeks have been extremely frustrating for our
customers and would like to apologize for the inconveniences this has caused.
We want to assure you that we have taken every possible step to avoid this in
the future and will continue to do everything possible to ensure our network
remains secure at all costs. Be assured that no customer data was compromised
during the attack. We really appreciate the support we have received from our
current customers and thank you for your patience and understanding while we
implement our upgrades for continued service.

Please do not respond to this email as this account is not monitored. If you'd
like to contact us, please visit http://www.readyhosting.com/contact.html and we
will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

Ready Hosting Staff & Management
