dspiel 12-28-2004, 10:19 PM Anyone here ever work with these guys? I've contacted them at least 5-10 times within the last month regarding 2 "premium domains" I'm interested in buying but havent heard a word yet. Anyone have any positive experience with these domain squatters or do they normally just ignore everyone.
nameslave 12-28-2004, 10:26 PM I guess most people would refrain from talking to someone who doesn't like them - re: "these domain squatters" ... ;)
dspiel 12-28-2004, 10:28 PM no I'm just annoyed :-)
I once contacted them about a domain, and they replied with $3000. I thought about it for a few days, replied that I would give them $2000 for it, and they said NO. A week later they sold the domain for $1500 to someone else. I couldnt believe it. I'll never waste my time with them again.
AFMichael 12-28-2004, 11:24 PM That's business for you. Once they say no, they think that you are gone for good and most likely won't contact you and see if you would still like to purchase it.

Just a week later? I'd say that is very poor sales negotiation at their end.

Thus the drop from $3000 to half price.
dspiel 12-29-2004, 03:33 PM hmm how did you get in touch with them? They have not heard of the invention called e-mail I think.
bagfull 12-30-2004, 10:14 AM They picked up my domain (it expired due to my fault). I asked them the price, they said around $800, I waited for a day and asked them where to pay... they said now the price is $2000 ...
I don't remember exact prices, it is more than a year back and they still have kept it in their showcase
They are "_______" (Put your favorite word)
dspiel 12-31-2004, 01:56 PM I finally got in touch with them, and they said it would be $1888.00 for the domain, I asked if I could speak with someone regarding the price and they than lowered it to $1688. Too bad the domains isnt worth even $1688.
As far as I know, they have a quite large portfolio of the domain names, but have never worked with them.
As I have read from this thread, it seems they are not really customer-oriented.

If you are buying big ticket domains (like in the 5-figure range) on a weekly basis, I'm sure you will then be able to contact them by a direct or even toll-free number. ;)
nameslave,
I would not call that customer-orientation :) It just means that they are only interested in a minor segment, which does not really match with their marketing strategy. It seems like they do want to cover different segments, but want to provide high quality customer support only to important customers, which first of all is not fair and second of all I think, it will react on the company image in the long-term.

Do NOT under any circumstances deal with these weasels. They use their position as a Registrar to hijack domain names that businesses and entrepreneurs have valid uses for. Considering they can do this at virtually no cost to them, they take ZERO risk, and make 100% profit of their shady practices.
