Hi,

Currently I have a problem with one of our servers. WHM diplays Proftd as being down, when I try to restart Proftpd WHM displays this message:

Proftpd dead but subsys locked

I spoke to burst and they said to delete the lock file, however I am not sure where or what this is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try removing file /var/lock/subsys/proftpd, that's its lock file.
