What's up with VDI, down again!

Does anyone know what the real scoop is? Don't tell me that Level3 disconnected themby mistake again.

Man... with the COLO's we have at Exodus, in the past 12 months there have't been more than a couple of outages, and even then didn't last more than a couple of minutes.

Our T1's here in Manhattan have had one outage of 7 minutes in the past year.

Why is it that VDI works fine for a few months then these chronic and long outages occuring every week. I've had enough. It's never a problem at VDI, always with their upstream provider. I have given up on these guys. I'm tired of explaining to customers that there is an outage because of blah blah blah.

I guess it's time to move some more servers to Exodus from VDI.

All bets are on for how long this outage is gonna be.

They have some pretty bad routing issues. AT&T, Level3, Global Crossing all show good routes. Exodus & Genuity do not.

I have MRTG installed on my servers; I also record the server load using MRTG. So anytime the network is down, I can actually see this on my MRTG graphs. And ... there does not seem to be any indication that the network is completely down since I was still getting traffic to my servers.

My traffic dropped by about 80% for 2 short periods of time, around 5 minutes each or less.

Yea ... as I said, I saw no indication that the netowk was completely down. Huge packet loss could be the reason (though I can't really see it on my MRTG--due to low traffic to my servers during this period of time).

There were some routing problems from ATT / UUNET / I Believe some other backbones, don`t assume that if you can`t get to us, it VDI that has the problem, why don`t you call the office and talk to us, instead of bashing us in the forums ???
