I have been looking all over for the last two days and came across GEARHOST.com. I signed up with them yesterday and sent in two support tickets immediately for issues. Now, maybe Im just spoiled from my last 5 hosting companies but I have never had to wait more than 5-10 hours and in most cases 2-3 hours for my support emails to be answered. Well that is what I need. I need short response times for my resold clients.

Anyway, to my question. I canceled my gearhost account tonight after still not receiving an answer and I am now looking for something new (funny how my request for cancellation was looked into immediately, within minutes but my support issue took over a day). I really need Windows 2000 with ColdFusion and ASP, also would prefer SQL 2000 for database support. Most accounts I have now are all under 100MB or less and under 2GB of bandwidth per month.

The prices on gearhost were great, but I would rather pay more and get great service. Something up to about $40 per month would be ok.

Thanks,
Misty

You don't happen to know what version of ColdFusion they are on do you? I looked on their site and don't see it.

oh nevermind, looking further I see they are only on SQL 7. I need 2000.

Just curious, but do you know if these guys are a reseller? They look an awful lot like a company I was with a year ago that was monstrous on support.

For the record, I think I saw CF 4.5 somewhere... yes, on this page: http://cosmotek.net/services/compare.asp

Have you looked at www.crystaltech.com?? They seem to offer ColdFusion and ASP on their plans; but I think SQL Server 2000 is only available on their expensive plans; it might be worth to send them an email.

I am pretty sure they have CF 5.0

Yes, actually I use Crystaltech for some of my accounts now. We use it mostly for our internal accounts for business purpose. I personally think their plans and prices are fabulous but for some reason I just can't seem to get any amount of resold clients to go for the $49 package with SQL (which is what everyone wants) when you can get the same thing for $20 or less elsewhere. I will continue to keep our business web sites, except our hosting site of course, on Crystaltech. I have been with them for 3 years now and absolutely love them! Their support is what I wish every hosting company had. I have never gone more than 2-3 hours with them.

But no matter how much I like them, I just cant get anyone else to like the price on the plan 3 they have. If it was about $10-$15 cheaper I would never leave them!
