View Full Version : Template auction
DJiMPaCT 02-12-2002, 08:31 PM All right, Template time. This badboy is fully equipped with flash menu, custom graphics and logo. Turning any visitor into a client for sure. Don't take your chances with today's market, and don't waste your money on custom design.
You can find the template at http://www.graphicaledge.com/templates/yourhost/
Email me your offer or just post it in the forum.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 12:52 PM I see, I have had no responces, how does it normally work when selling a template?
ASPCode.net 02-13-2002, 01:29 PM I think a starting price is always good to list. Secondly, at least to me the template was not very attractive. Not racking down on your skills, just the colors are way to dark.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 01:33 PM Thanks for the post, but I'm not looking for criticism, just a home for this template.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 01:34 PM Also no starting price, this is an open auction.
ASPCode.net 02-13-2002, 01:59 PM Just got the feeling you wanted to know why noone had responsed.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 02:08 PM They have, just in PM with really low offers.
ASPCode.net 02-13-2002, 02:47 PM That's a shame.
I would love to see it it white/brighter colors. It's a pretty nice and advanced template really.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 02:50 PM Okay, so you can use your white template, this is just a site I have laying around. I'm not about to argue this because its ONE persons point of view on the topic. Which obviously isnt much compared to the BILLIONS of people on the internet.
ASPCode.net 02-13-2002, 03:01 PM Well this single persons view might have gotten your template sold, but your attitude is not very professional so now I'm not interested.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 03:06 PM Thanks for your time. I would have sold it to who? You dont like black templates, remember?

Are you going to say this to a client? ASPCode.net wasn't arguing with you. He just said some nice things about your template and expressed his own preference, just like what a potential client will do.

To me, if you would have considered changing the color scheme of course.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 03:14 PM I wouldn't its selling as is, I will add a logo modify the menu, and send it. It's a left over layout I am getting rid of.
Relyc 02-13-2002, 03:16 PM You will not go absolutely anywhere in this industry if you treat potential clients in that fashion.
I also think the template is too dark, I have a great deal of experience with graphics and webdesign and I can assure you that many people (of course not everyone though) will agree that the template is too dark.
It is in fact a nice design, but it seems you have alienated anybody that might be remotely interested in purchasing it, simply through your behaviour.
On a side note, isn't there a limit to how big the sigs can be? 4 lines or something?

Yup, four lines.. :)
And while I'm agreeing with things, I'll also agree with the critical nature of Kelsey's attitude. Design is often about compromise. Lashing out out a potential customer because he/she may have some requests of their own isn't a great way to get business.
Sometimes you might want to give them a serve, but that doesn't pay the bills :D

Yes, potential client, if they are satisfied with your work, they will come back. We (nine-one.net) have one client who we have done 4 designs for you because they were that happy with the first one.
In regard to your other post. You should care what I, and others think of you. This is not pre-school where your parents convince you to just be happy with yourself. This is the real world, and everybody elses opinion is what counts.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 03:31 PM 4 lines? okay I change
and
I do not care, this is nothing to reflect my skill nor my businesses, yes I am aware of clients with return business, but my market is not on some web-board where people are selling sites off for $60
Chicken 02-13-2002, 03:49 PM While everyone's opinions are valid, this is a template for sale. If you are interested in purchasing it, but would like to know if this or that could be made lighter or changed, I'm sure DJiMPaCT would be happy to answer those questions. He/she may be a bit annoyed as it seems more like a web site review thread than an ad thread.
DJiMPaCT, I think people like the template and aren't trying to put it down, just that they are tangenting a bit and offering you suggestions.
DJiMPaCT 02-13-2002, 03:50 PM Thanks chicken, but like you said, im not asking for suggestions but a home for this template.
WannaBaHost 02-14-2002, 03:07 PM I like the template myself, it will pair up with the site that will give me most of my hosting sales, so if its not sold let me know how much you will take.
