View Full Version : What's wrong with godaddy?!
luffy 12-23-2004, 07:49 PM I just received a refund notice from them. It said I required a refund for the domain I registered yesterday. BUT, I never made this refund request. I went to their website and try to login my account to make sure everything is ok. Then terrible things happened. The system said" There is no account with that information. Please try again. !!" OMG, What's fxxking wrong with their stupid system!?
David 12-23-2004, 08:34 PM Call them - its the only way I ever got decent support with them.
wbpro 12-23-2004, 09:43 PM I don't understand why people still asking for support by email or here if there is a phone number listed. Try calling them and if they don't fix your problems than come here. (408) 505-8877
ldcdc 12-23-2004, 09:57 PM At $1/minute it might take some people a while to decide to use the phone. ;)
osphere 12-23-2004, 10:00 PM Well, try to mail them. or contact them by other "free" way

Well if the person is not in the US, or godaddy charges for the phone support??
That is why i recommend always to sign up with a company that has a toll free number.

Ok who wants to buy phone cards?
I can sell you phone cards for 5 cents per minute!
International calls for as low as 50 cents per minute!!!
(Just joking of course.).... But really... who pays $1 for phone calls anymore!??!?!?!
osphere 12-24-2004, 12:53 AM Even toll free numbers if you are outside that country they charge you
The Weasel 12-24-2004, 12:11 PM Well, someone else might have purchased the same domain that you did, but beat you to the punch by a few seconds. This does happen. Rarely, but surely.
nameslave 12-24-2004, 12:45 PM Whatever rate your long distance call is, it will add to your per name year cost. Of course, for those registrars with toll-free numbers, they have ALREADY added that to your registration fee. :D
sn3webdesigner 12-24-2004, 07:13 PM I've heard some bad things with GoDaddy. I wouldn't use them.
dmaven 12-24-2004, 08:11 PM most toll-free registrars charge 35.00 or so. Have not seen many discount registrars offering toll-free
David 12-24-2004, 08:13 PM I personally like namecheap - godaddy did me wrong a few times by forcing me to wait weeks, sometimes months before they would release passwords to me..
//me mehs, I was e-mailing them from the e-mail addresses I used to register the domains too, sad.
inventd 12-24-2004, 09:17 PM Sorry to hear it. I've registered a few domains with godaddy without problems.
I'll give namecheap a try next time ;)
David 12-24-2004, 09:19 PM Well - it was my own fault for forgetting the password - but they didn't have to take 2 months to release it to me.

I've been using Go Daddy for several years, personally and now with my business.
I've considered leaving a couple times, mostly due to customer service issues. But what it basically comes down to is that Go Daddy offers excellent value, and there may be a few bad apples in the CS department, but what company doesn't?
Go Daddy offers domains for aroudn $8.99 a month. .info domains are around $2 until the new year. Most other registrars charge double that..AND they will place an ad on your site when you forward domains (yeah..register.com...I read about your scam).
In short...Go Daddy may have minor issues here and there, but when push comes to shove, they are THE choice.
techiecool 12-25-2004, 01:13 PM i used godaddy for the last 3 years. no problems. but then i decided to try registerfly. and it seems they do the same thing at a better price. i get whois protection and registration for about $8-10 less. and they'll be accredited w/in the next month apparently.
all registrars/services/companies will have their bad moments. heck home depot was not really the best in fixing a problem i had last week, but i still shop there.
