ebay today announced that it has agreed to acquire privately held Rent.com, a leading Internet listing website in the apartment and rental housing industry.
I wonder what for? oh and guess how much they paid for it...

rent.com's business is primarily with property managers who wish to list their available units. I also think they automate a number of property manager tasks such as tenant screening, rent billing and collection etc.. Maybe ebay is looking to expand in this area.

I hope they only target fat landlords. Otherwise many listing services may go out of business.
