If I wanted to setup a free hosting system for some people to use, what script would people recommend? I'd just like to have it automated, work on Cpanel, give them a subdomain, ftp access, and the basics. And, I'd like to be able to have it automaticlaly put advertising on the free hosted sites. Can be a free script, or not free if it's not terribly expensive. Thanks!

check out xpanel.com

their system runs with cpanel and the price is really good at $49

one good feature it has is that it would let your users upgrade to a paid service with more features.

btw, i'm not affiliated with xpanel but i did a review on their system in the past and would have purchased it but we decided to forego the free hosting business.

Ys. I own many licenses of xPanel. It's fantastic. Just make sure you set it up to use pure_ftpd instead of proftpd.

cP Account Creator
This script started with the idea to allow your sites visitors to add email accounts to your cPanel server using a simple webpage interface. It's evolved to allow users to add a MySQL database, FTP user and create a subdomain all with one simple form. There is no skin, just simply add the contents of several files to you existing page. There is a very simple admin area that allows deletion of accounts and viewing of the account information. It's still in the Beta stages, but it's very flexible. it now cabible of adding a phpbb board
