Would it be lucrative to offer forums to the customers, in the sense of me owning a licence to vBulletinBoard, and if they want a forum, I charge them, so and so, and they get a bulletinboard.

Now Basically it costs around $80 dollars per license. Would people pay that? Maybe, I could arange it to do it monthly with their monthly webhosting cost. I am just wondering, because I would love to run vBB, and I know I can afford it personally, but to offer the best service to my customers, would it be lucrative, or should I just leave it at that, and maybe give em a free one or something.

Maybe just offer to install vBulletin for free (provided they can produce a license).

I'm a little unsure of what you're asking though.
Are you suggesting that you would purchase a vBulletin license for your customer, and then sell it to them on a cost per month basis?

Yeah, to put it simply, I appologize I am bad at explaining things sometimes. I was asking if I should do this out right, or charge them fully or monthly, and what were your thoughts on this.

Yeah, I was going to install it for free. If they wanted it customized, now that costs money.

My focus is the gaming industry, be it gamers, game companies, game sites, I just want to cater to gamers. So vBB would be a nice resource to use.

I had thought of the same thing, but I don't think you can do that legally.

I did notice that VBulletin offers an affiliate program which I think is a better way to go. 20% commision isn't too shabby IMO.

I can do that, I would have to use the money I get from the customer, and then buy another license then i install it.
