Heh, I didn't mean $3 per month....just 3 dollars as a one-time payment for lifetime hosting!;)

What about support costs, etc.

The really odd thing about webhosting is that I think most people who sign up for it get burnt and then they learn. It's almost opposite of how people buy other services or goods.

I agree i to thought it was wild, but Gary has been great! I have emailed for tech support - turn around was about an hour. I called and Gary himself talked to me and was VERY prompt to fix name server problem. So far i think hes great, and from what i hear else where he's even better!
