I'm trying to set up so I can accept credit card payments on my web site without customers having to open a paypal account. Paypal have an example of this on this on their webpage but when I try users are directed to open a paypal a/c.

Should I just be creating a paynow button for example or do I have to change some settings so customers don;t have to open an account?

Paypal CC process is not that straight forward

It does looks like customer need a paypal account at first glance, but when you choose credit card to pay, VISA , MASTER..etc..Screen will be changed and you will not need a paypal account to go through :clap:

and click on the buynow button. Should I be able to accept CC payments like this, as far as I can see it still asks for you to sign up.

I tried your buynow button, and yes you have to signup with paypal to pay. You can try with 2CO, they have buynow button tool with direct payment option.

United States merchants with the proper business account, your customers do not need to sign up for a Paypal account. Unfortunately, this option is not available in your country at this time.

As previously mentioned, you might take a look at 2CO to see if they might better suit your needs. If you do sign up with them, I would recommend keeping Paypal as a secondary payment option.

I am oversea and might be hard to let them wire to my country

I beleive 2CO requires a bank account to deposit your money.

paypal do offer now the option to accept credit cards without asking the users to sign up !
You should first upgrade your account to business account to be able to !

Currently though only for United States merchants.
