If you are reselling for a company, who takes care of system administration, as well as second line technical support. Do you need a staff?

Your provider takes care of those things. You are first line of support and sales/marketing, etc.

Webhosting is a fulltime job an requires alot of time. So if you have a family and / or social life. If you wish to spend anytime at all with them or doing things I would recommend having some sort of staff. If you are just starting out it may not be feasible, money wise to hire someone right off the bat, but if you become successful later down the road, it will be a big benefit to add some staff to help out with things such as help desk, sales questions and billing.

This will free yourself up from doing everything yourself and you can then concentrate on bringing in more customers and business.

Hope this helps answering your question

The bold area wasn't a question. I was saying if the company I am resellling for, takes care of system adminstration as well as second line technical support, would I still need a staff.
Just for FYI ;)
Anyway thanks for the responses.

But I also have one more question for whomever see's this.
Giving your AIM out for General support....
Unprofessional? or does giving assistance via AIM, simply show a considerate host who cares about there customers convience?

I personally wouldnt think it is unperfessional. But people could abuse that, and you only have so much time. What I would recomend, is that you have another account with aim or whichever service you use that is specific to your company hosting blah. And give that out if they need aditional assistance, or just generally. There are other options like here (http://www.bravenet.com/samples/humanclick.php) which would be more professional than just using aim.
It all depends on your motive. Good luck.
