I've been seeing about .8% click-throughs on AdWords. Disappointing.

Clickthrough at adwords is not that great depending on how wide or broad the words and phrases that you're buying are. For instance, running words like "webhosting", you'll be upset with the money spent there. However, if you're trying to sell something like a specific baseball card or something like that, the results would be better. But even then, I've found that the response ratio just isn't that great. I think it just boils down to the fact that the actual ads are thrown in over on the far right side of the page. And since most folks have made the switch to a 17" monitor, it completely escapes their view. Everyone has already tuned out "gratuitous" advertising on the net for the most part. I think Adwords would be great if they'd go ahead and sell us the first line on the search results as opposed to a special "ad".
