I did trace to serverhost.com and it goes thrue cogent and dv2.net(?!?). Are you related to dv2.net somehow?

No. If you want an IP address to traceroute to, drop me an e-mail and I'll provide you with one. We are not related to DV2 in any way - we just have some of our servers in co-location in their facility.

Checks are not a guaranteed form of payment. Collecting on returned checks is a pain. That's why we prefer VISA/MC/AMEX/DISCOVER.

The thing that appeals to me the most about this deal, is the cost of support has come down. $75 an hour for support is nice - much better than the $160(I think) at the previous facility :)

Also Jeffrey, how much is it for additional IP addresses?
When you get on ICQ, can you msg me? I am always in away mode, but I am usually up and about at my PC.

Cool. I'm at school now :-P but we're paying 130 a month for a gameserver, and I can manage and run a full linux setup so its not an issue.

Do you have an IP I could ping? ping is everything, I know the hardware can handle it!

I gave you a ring last night & emailed you shortly after. I awaited a response from the first email, but never got one. So, after waiting, i forwarded you a copy of my original email & still no reponse.

Both emails were sent to: sales@serverhost.com. Are you having email issues or something, as i would have figured a response would have been sent by now. I want to set up a server with you, but that is very difficult when i cannot get a reply.

NOTE: i believe someone else had this issue from earlier in this thread. I can supply you with full headers of the sent mails. One was ~24 hours ago & the other ~12. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, due to a Cpanel update, our e-mail server wasn't working properly. You can send it to jkehe@yahoo.com if you want to make sure I get it... however, the regular e-mail addresses should work fine now.

Well, it bounced back for the test e-mails I sent when I fixed it. It was due to SpamAssassin, some new thing they put into Cpanel. In any case, if you resend it, I should get it.

None of my employees have received voicemails from you. Like I said - none of us have heard about any problems from you until you started posting on here. I was trying to be nice, gently nudging you into providing support, while not screwing up your advertising.
The fact is, though, that I called that number you just gave a couple of days ago, and your administrator told me I had to call you for Cpanel support, because he didn't know anything about it. So I've called and left no less than two voice mail messages at YOUR number.
So I sent you a PM last night through WHT, and you responded this morning with the following:
Haven't seen an e-mail go through the ticket system - did the guys miss it? Send me an e-mail to jeffrey.kehe@serverhost.com and I'll be sure to look into why it hasn't been taken care of. Sorry for any inconvenience.
So I did so this morning. As of right now, I've had no response from you.

Please try to remember that I'm a customer, and plan to stay that way, as I've been very happy with hardware and network performance. But for God's sake, quit blaming things like your email server. I know what gets generated when SpamAssassin filters an email, and I know what I would have gotten back.

We picked up one of these boxes... Nice so far, excpet, its the stock kernel that comes with RedHat 7.2, which has a huge security hole in it....


I don't mind updating SSH, and everything else on the server, but a kernel update is major in some cases, and should have been done before we ever got the box, and should have been done to all of your servers...


But we emailed your support, and they say thats advanced support.....


I'm posting this to warn people if you are weak at updating, then this company isn't for you....

To fix this, you have to upgrade the kernel from 2.4.7-10 to atleast 2.4.12

From lurking here for quite some time I've noticed a couple of things that are constant regarding you Jeff. You seem to have the worst email system on earth. And I don't just mean the past few days.... of which I know a lot of people using cpanel servers and have not had any problems with spam assassin. This is just not a dig at you but just an observation after looking through many weeks of past posts. It seems you have never made a mistake ever.. it's ALWAYS the customers fault... it's always you've NEVER received their email. The only time you've ever admitted it's your fault is the last few days.. but even now it's not your fault... it's darkorb's fault, it's cpanel's fault, it's the customers fault because you're telling them they didn't left messages when they did, etc.

And you have the worst luck with shippers.. with bad parts... and you have more sickness than anyone I've ever heard of. This is from reading posts and contacting inviduals about your service after being interested in getting a server from you. It seems like every few weeks you're sick is the reason for not answering emails or just like usual, you never got it, it's the customers fault... or you have a bad batch of parts... or the shipper is late in delivering parts. If that many bad things happens to one person that never is at fault, I'd be scared to death to walk outside because of such bad luck.

And on more than one occasion you've not paid your bill at DV2 or the check got returned and your servers went off line. That's why you've changed data centers. But I know you'll say that's not true and that DV2 is lying.

I'm hoping you'll do more with this post other than dismiss and say it's not true. But this viewpoint is gathered from MANY people's posts, not just one or two, so there's got to be a lot of truth to this.

Now you can blast me and do whatever.

I'm, like most, have lurked for a long time, looking for good deals on hosting and interested in a dedicated server. By doing a search on here for this person and company I compiled a large list of posts saying the same thing that I summarized. Tell me one thing mentioned that hasn't been expressed by someone else in this board. I just had to point this out after seeing his customers have problems and once again like always being told no this no that.. I didn't get your email, I didn't get your voicemail, your wrong I'm right, etc.

I apologize if someone got offended but almost every post on here and in the advertising forum has comments from others questioning the validity of the offer for the benefit of others. So this is no difference because not once did I make any accusations... all I did was comment on his bad luck he has so much of.
