I wouldn't post here but I can't decent support any where else.

I have a Reseller account and on the accounts, FrontPage is installed. The clients side FP is FP98. When 'Publish' to the Host, there is an " /_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe 500" error. This occurs after FP runs through all the files and is at the very end of comletion. Nothing gets uploaded though.

The Host says EXE files don't run on Linux, but I have no probs with FP on other hosts. The root FP file, called "_vti_inf.html" shows that the following are installed when FP exts are installed:
FPVersion="5.0.2.2634"
FPShtmlScriptUrl="_vti_bin/shtml.exe/_vti_rpc"
FPAuthorScriptUrl="_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.exe"
FPAdminScriptUrl="_vti_bin/_vti_adm/admin.exe"
TPScriptUrl="_vti_bin/owssvr.exe"

However, these filesd are not there in the dirs the Doc says they should be in.

I can't get the host to understand this. Can anyone explain what I, as the client can do to fix this?

Greetings:

If your host is running the lastest FrontPage 2002 server extensions, then please note Microsoft / RTR (Ready to Run Software -- the makers of the Unix side of the extensions) disabled support for FrontPage 98.

You have to use the FrontPage 200x client.

Thank you.
