Ok, I figure the following initial startup fees involved:

1. Reselling Plan with a host - say $40 a month
2. Credit CArd Transactions on your site - $300 /yr
3. Some sort of software to bill your clients monthly with ????
4. What am i missing?

I figure $80 a month to start.... so you need around 5-10 clients to cut even?

Just dont forget to calculate in taxes, stationery, accountant, advertising (as mentioned), business registration if needed, phone, office if needed, power bills going through the roof from yr pc cranking on through the night as you attend support issues, energy drinks, caffeinated penguin mints... and all the other mundane things that help a business tick. Be sure you've got enough capital to cover any hidden problems :)

I don't think you can EVER start a business with too much capital...

Hehe. Your right there, but if you are doing taxes, if you charge more, you pay more taxes, but keep anything that is used for business, or your ability to do business, keep track of it. If you bought a box of tissues to blow your nose, and you had to use them to wipe your screen off, thats for business. If you have to go buy a floppy disc from a store, document the miles and the price, because thats for business. The less "profit" and more expenses you have, the less you have to pay for taxes, if you are located in america.
