It takes a good forum to get a lot of people.

And good members! :)

Everything that's been said before is completely true. The forums are well-moderated, and the people who post are generally intelligent. Not only that, there seem to be a large number of "regulars" and repeat posters, which is a good sign in itself.

Have a beer on me guys! (You gotta buy...I'll pay you back when I'm a millionaire though. Really I will.) ;)

Congratulations.

However, I believe all memberships originating in Florida must be recounted...

Hahahhaa Florida.

How many Florida Voters does it take to screw in a light bulb, they dont know we keep losing count.

Anyway, I would like to know why did we start showing our ip addresses again. I liked it when we didnt show them for the public , just adminstration. Because some freak emailed my isp and said i was been very nasty, and such, on a forum, just because i disagreed with him. So I am much in favor for privatizing the ip addresses for adminstration.

*plugs in beating stick*

There's only two options with the IP addresses. Show them, not show them. It was deicded that (jus' like the ol' days), we show 'em. If there is a third option that I don't know about, lemme know Idaho.

We realize that some people do/don't/don'tcare if the IP addresses are shown and we're hoping everyone will fall into the 'don't care' catagory. :)

Just for the record who was the #1000 member?

It had to be either someone named George or someone named Al...

Well I believe I was #1000 and if the record shows I am not then I will be forced to protest the count and demand a hand recount of all members.

I will be member #1000 one way or another.

Paul, you have to bear in mind that this whole matter has been skewed by what Ralph Nader did. He threw this thing, by exercising his constutuitional right to also join this board.

I personally don't think posting the IPs publicly is such a big deal. As far as what happened to TheComputerGuy, that sounds like an isolated incident from some crackpot. I've never had an issue like that myself, and I'm sure the majority haven't either.

I'm voting for "Don't Care", and I've recounted my vote. Don't Care: 1...or converted into Floridiot, 2. :)

i think there was a problem with my vote...

i didn't understand the question properly and voted for

"don't care" AND "don't"

if you look at chicken's post, he put them all way too close together, without even the common decency for proper spacing between the forward slashes!

as we all know chicken is still bitter from losing out to ralph nader in the last election, i think he's trying to influence the vote here on this very forum!

We're going to need to collect all of the votes and recount them.

We'll also need a special committee to handle the matter of deciding whether or not someone's mouse button was partly pressed, fully pressed, if they thought about pressing it, whether someone else thought about pressing it, and whether or not the mouse had dimples.

I heard that many people in poorer neighbourhoods had problems with their mouse button, the click did not go all the way down in many cases, leaving it pregnant.

That honor goes to... *drumroll please*

blackdevil

-who hasn't posted yet :(

Blackdevil, please wait until Wednesday and dig under your couch cushions for loose change until you gather up at least 29 cents. Then head over to McDonalds to claim your prize of one hamburger! Be sure to bring your 29 cents with you, as it may be required (fee to claim prize).

*clap clap clap clap*

This is not the usual cause of mouse impregnation; however, it's true -- without proper protection, even if you don't click "all the way," it can happen.

Although we certainly don't mean to condone casual clicking, we definitely suggest wearing proper protection.

You Americans can't do anything right. You see, in Canada, we have a guy who can't speak either of the official languages, does nothing, keeps a low profile, then does one major newsworthy thing to look good just before calling an early election (you can do this in Canada to keep your party in). Then, he gets in as the Prime Minister by a landslide. No recount necessary. And we're left in our happy little left-wing-turned-right-wing-turned-socialist-turned-whatever-makes-the-fewest-people-angry rut for the next 3-5 years.

Sorta makes me proud to be a Canadian. That, and the way we beat up on all of those civilians in Somalia while keeping the peace. Those starving Africans shouldn't have looked at our beer funny, eh? :P

You guys are lucky it's this close. No matter how it turns out, everyone's opinion counts just about the same.
