Hi, i have a paypal account in the name of my old website, this is not a problem as i have made all of my sites a 'group of sites' However i have money in my paypal account which says the name on your bank account must exactly match that on your paypal account. My paypal account is johouston.com in the name joanna houston and my bank account is in the name of joanna houston.....however when i went to add a bank account it tried to use the name johouston.com i emailed paypal who started going on about changing my name and faxing them my passport etc.
Can anyone please tell me whether it uses your name or you business name and whether i could maybe overcome this by creating a personal account and transfering my business balance into the personal account. I am bit reluctant tho becuase i dont have a credit or debit card that paypal accept and my dad only gets a statement every 3 months and i need to wait for that to get the activation code!!

This all sounds very, "Email support"-ish to me. I can't see that people here would be able to help you, other than if they had the exact same problem. You should email all of these questions directly to PayPal.

I did email paypal and they told me all this stuff about changing names which was irrelevant, i emailed back and they ignored it.
I wanted to know if anyone who has a paypal business account on here uses a personal bank account

I have two in my PayPal account, a savings and a checking and it has not givin me any problems, yet. :)

When I first signed up with PayPal, I used my business name with PayPal, but my personal name was on my bank account. This didn't pose any problems that I can remember. I did the credit card verification thing. I waited until 3 days after they charged the card & then called my bank to get the figures.

The only time I ran into trouble was 60 days later when I applied for the PayPal debit card. At that point, I had to change the name on my PayPal account to my personal name so that it would match the name on my VISA card. But, if I had not wanted the debit card, I could have used all the other services of PayPal under my business name.
