Will your hosting company allow you to generate your own CSR? I so - check out www.ev1servers.net. You can get an SSL there

GeoTrust.com
Comodo (InstantSSL.com)
Lots of hosts resell from these two places and you can probably get a good deal from them.

coreybryant tell that you need CSR
CSR = Certificate Signing Request
Many hosting control panel has that option, so you can generate CSR for yourself easy, if not ask your hosting provider.
After requesting you can take cheap certificate (see link above) and search for step by step intsallation procedure.

Well from Comodo... I'd say you need an Instant SSL Pro that that runs 1 year = $69 through them. I can offer you that for less if you PM me so we don't do the whole selling thing here, but many other hosts can also resell Comodo certs for less, so feel free to shop around.

You're right, GeoTrust cert looks a bit expensive there direct through them... again, we resell them also and can offer you that for much less then $169, but I thought geotrust had lower standard pricing, I guess they upped thier direct pricing within the last year.

Get the $49 one from ev1servers, it's the best quality (and highest ubiquity) for a reasonable price that you will get.

Actually EV1 sells StarterSSL for $4.95: http://www.ev1servers.net/english/starterssldetails.asp - FreeSSL owns the root for Starter
