Hi!

I just installed an SSL certificate on a brand new machine running RH 7.2 and WHM/CPanel4 and it works fine. I installed it for secure.ourdns.com using WHM and can view it as https://secure.ourdns.com. However, i am having trouble having FormMail working with it. The order page is working great, but when i click the order button, i get a 404 error, even though i can go to the FormMail.cgi with my browser (https://secure.ourdns.com/cgi-sys/FormMail.cgi. Also, i have some fileds required like domain and email, if i leave those blank, the formMail works great, it tells me i am missing fields like it should be, but when i put something in those fields, file not found! I am using the FormMail included with CPanel and i also installed another one to test it out, same thing.

Any idea?

cheers,

You probably configured formmail to redirect to another page, but that page doesn't exist. Formmail itself is probably running fine.

You will not believe  That was it, i searched the forum during about one or two hours to find a similar problem, re-installed FormMail, reconfiguring it, looking trought the httpd.conf a few times and ... forgot to look for the redirect page!

Then, i went to bed and today i read your post and then i thought about that! he he, another reason why we shouldn't work on servers when we are tired :)

But, thanks!

Don't use Matt Wright's FormMail script. It's a piece of crap and is insecure -- you should find something else. SPAMMER's are always exploiting it to use servers to send SPAM.

Tim, do you have any specific recommendation?

Formmail doesn't work with SSL.

Although this does:
# FreeForm v1.0 - polyspaston.com #

Hope that helps!

Whats the point of using SSL then having the data emailed, well apart from giving people a false sence of security?
