these are good accounts, that no longer are issued, so you need to verify they are infact old accounts, and you need to know who the top reseller is the so called ETP, and how far down your account is from him.

such an account directly under a trustable ETP, I've heard is worth around $150

But if he don't know the ETP or the level? Is it possible to get the information elsewhere?

How can you then know if the ETP is trustable?

If you don't know the ETP, it's a great risk.. I've heard bad things, like they may try to get control of your account, so you need to have an honest ETP. Only way is to research and search the web for comments about the ETP. I'm not too familiar with enom, so I can't tell you how to see who the ETP is. Maybe some of the enom experts here can help you. But don't risk it without getting adequate information first...

I saw some tutorial here at WHT about how to secure the account so that the ETP can't change the prices and also can't delete the acoount.

In that case it shouldn't matter who is the ETP, or?

:uhh:I live near eNom and have met the folks. They used to allow ETPs to open unlimited $6.95 sub accounts. They discontinued it because ETPs had no incentive to offer the customer support necessary to service the accounts.
:uhh:Shortly after they changed the policy, some enterprising fellow discovered that if he opened a junior account and deposited $6950 into it, eNom would change it to a $6.95 account. He could then vacate the funds from the sub account and sell it on eBay or somewhere else. They used to get over $300 and he could do it more than once a week. Pretty good interest, huh?
:uhh:Now eNom won't allow $ transfer between accounts, but there are still a bunch of these old accounts around and I don't trust any of them. You are completely dependant on the ETP. If you have one, you might consider asking eNom what your options are.
:uhh:As an alternative, you could open a plain old $8.95 account with some dumb schluck like me and push your domains back and forth between the reseller account and the $6.95 ENOM RETAIL ACCOUNT you can get at sipence.com. ENom has solved its problems by screwing all its resellers.:smash:

neologist makes some valid points, but the system of registering names at Sipence won't work if you want a truly automated domain name registration website using eNom's API.

If you want to "try" eNom, then maybe sign-up with someone who is a member at WHT, like acts837's www.NameZoom.net or zoli's www.DomainResell.biz Both of these use a rebate system to lower the domain price below the manadatory $8.95

Also, I think spending $150 for a $6.95 account is an acceptable business risk considering the $6,950.00 alternative. ;)

I agree with 4solutions. I only use sipence for my sedo directed domains and for domains bought for my own use. I haven't decided what, if anything, to say to my dozens of retail and reseller account holders. I like to keep them aware of good deals and, since sipence charges so much for extras, they're really not THAT good a deal, are they?:D
