View Full Version : What a bunch of CROOKS!
Someone just emailed UnlimBand about this, and thought that I would post it. Its not realted to UnlimBand, but worth looking at.
Well, the person describes that ***** has been using false advertising when marketing their Merchant Accounts. ***** claims on all of their advertising and banner ads that they provide 100% approval ratings for a merchant account.
I wanted to check this out for myself. And sure enough, they were displaying false advertising.
Check out the image below, it says that ***** offers a 100% approval rating for their merchant accounts.
Now, check out this page: http://www.*****.com/?zone=products/shortapp
Seems to me that they have changed that on their actual sign up page to 99%.
Well, if maybe I should apply for a merchant account under this:
company name: Buy Illegal Micrsoft Software
description: purchase illegal microsoft windows for a fraction of the cost!
I wonder what they will say????
What a bunch of CROOKS over that at *****

cheesysticks 02-09-2002, 08:28 PM The image says that they offer 100% approval on there merchant account add-on,
They could easly argue that you have to be approved for the 99% merchant account, then the addon which is 100% approval if approved by the 99% merchant account, all they have to say is that they have different levels of merchant accounts where one is a regular merchant account and one can be extended (addon)
Although it does look like they are advertising there merchent account for 100% approval it could be argued that they are not.
Is the addon an addon to an account without a merchant account or an extension of a merchant account? All they have to do is draw a line.
Very missleading advertising or False advertising?
just look at it, they advertise 100% then once they draw you in, they say 99%.
I called up the sales department and they said that they will approve everyone. Then, they started talking about credit line and things that have nothing to do with a merchant account. The guy saw the webpage and said he needed to put me on hold, so he could notify the manager of this situation. When he came back he said he could not talk about the merchant account, and that I would need to visit cardservices.com.
I thought that this was pretty odd, considering it is a service that they advertise, and they aren't even keeping up with their own advertising schemes.
This is totally horrible.

cheesysticks 02-09-2002, 08:55 PM It's not going to do them any favours is it?
Incognito 02-09-2002, 08:57 PM Haven't we seen their actions long enough to become immune to any additional shock by anything they do?

just another scam that they are pulling, I wonder what Card Services will say?

Incognito 02-09-2002, 09:14 PM And then will say keep the accounts coming our way. Part of the problem, those of us who have no control take stances, but those who could do something are not going to take actions that will impact their earnings negatively.

Then, they started talking about credit line and things that have nothing to do with a merchant account. These "everyone is approved" merchant accounts work similarly to a high-interest, easy approval credit card account: if you are considered to be a risk, your rates might be higher and the monthly limit on your total transaction amount is lower. That's what they're referring to when they talk about "credit line." So, yes, it is relevant to a merchant account.

When i said that they were talking about things irrevelant, they started saying that they can accept everyone because their servers can handle as many merchant accounts as they need. It got into a stupid conversation.

StarGate 02-11-2002, 01:57 PM ... give you 40% uptime, make you call them so often and stay on hol dfor whole hours so that your phonebill gets bigger then the amount you pay them and then you wont be able to pay your phonebill cause they have emptied your credit card.
To all ***** "spies" here: If you think I am wrong then SUE me and I will GLADLY present evidence of even worse kind to the judge. Christopher Faulkner (***** CEO) is a CRIMINAL and belongs in PRISON!!!
joonixluser 02-15-2002, 12:47 AM here here.. Chris Faulkner is the biggest <edit> on the planet. Not only does he operate a crooked business, he has the worst people skills of any person I've ever encountered. You know that he once threatened to fire one of his employees because someone parked next to his little porsche and his fat ass couldn't fit into it.. he went crying to his mother, who coincidentally is the company lawyer and has her office on the second floor of their offices in Bedford Tx. She immediately went on a man hunt through that place looking for the person who owned that car.. what an ass..
Chicken 02-15-2002, 01:38 PM And you obtained this first hand how again? Are you an employee?
AhmedF 02-15-2002, 01:49 PM If that story is true, it is damn funny :D
