How many websites can a Celeron 500, 128MB manage? How many traffic/bandwidth?

Does anybody know?

Perhaps other servers? Experiences?

Thanks a lot!

In terms of bandwidth, processor/ram has little or no relationship to the amount of bandwidth served. That depends on the size of sites and the volume of visitors you handle per month.

As for serving sites, the processor/RAM should probably be a bit more solid - the Celeron and 128MB RAM is OK if you're serving plain HTML pages and not using much server-intensive stuff, but if you get plenty of people running CGI scripts and other intensive server CPU stuff, the Celeron won't like it. And the more RAM the better as well.

Thank you for your answer. Do you know how many websites (static, some php/mysql and cgi sites) it can manage?

well it's impossible to give a true number since it all depends on too many issues but with a system like that i would say 150 to 200 max would be my limit. but all it would take was a few heavy sites and it could be as little as 25-50...
