Also the beta is like a game its illegal to give copys to and since its only playable on the Battle.net why bother?

Blizzard does not give beta preference to people that have contacts with Blizzard staff. I know this as a fact since I have contacts with Blizzard employees that are working on Warcraft 3. Everything is classified. Unless you are with the media, you get no preference at all. If you missed the beta signup, then too bad.

Trying to get a second-hand copy won't work either since the license is non-transferable and a violation of terms of service. In addition, the cd-key is vital to the operation of the game.

Warcraft 3 would be cool. Starcraft 2 would be awesome.

This was not really called for in MY OPINION he is asking for an illegal copy of a game that isnt not even going to work other than for the lucky person who has a copy since it only works with the one account they make for beta.

Sorry; but I didn't interpret his request as asking for a pirated copy.

It may well be that he is unaware. Why assume he wants to steal something? What if he thought that a person could purchase a copy, if he had the right connections; or that there was a way to test? PorkChup summed it up quite well. Maybe someone just needed to be informed of the status of program.

But the threadstarter only wants to be in the warcraft 3 beta and he's looking for people who know people who work at blizzard that can get him into the beta program.

And Porkchup who HAS contacts at blizzard says that is not possible because the company does not pick beta testers that way.

Is it illegal to download a pirated copy or is it just illegal to supply it? What about just supplying a link to a copy that you don't own?
