A question for those of you that either resell or are looking to resell domains. With all the various registrars out there to choose from, what did or do you look for when choosing the company to go with? Was it service, domain prices, number of TLDs offered, or other value added services?
My question is somewhat biased, because I work for a Registrar's reseller channel. I am not here to sell anyone anything as there are 1000's of hosting companies, and other providers for me to go after, but here to learn why you made the descisions you did so I can understand the market more effectively.
You do not have to reply with your name or company name, but please let me know what your thought pattern was. . . Thanks.

I chose Directi.com because of their pricing and no set up/monthly/yearly fee. They also accept PayPal and don't charge a min. deposit with PayPal like eNom.

I actually wrote a pretty long post just a couple of days ago on my thoughts (look for "my thoughts on picking a reseller" in this forum). I think really, all factors came into play when I chose (just went with directi, but not married to them yet, only been testing them out for a day or so to get a feel for their system).
I'll say that the factors I was really giving extra consideration while considering companies were, in a rough order:
-reliability (been in business a while, good reputation, etc.)
-pricing (while I didn't care who was absolute absolute lowest, certain registrars really turned me off with high or sort of convoluted pricing (convoluted=wildwest profit-sharing thing)
I guess those really were the two main things I considered, but then a LOT of extra things came into play, including in no order:
- selection of TLDs
- option of reselling private registration (just an option I know would sell well in my niche)
- API
- ease of getting started
Uhh, I know there's way more I'm not remembering unfortunately. I found while choosing a registrar that I couldn't find one that was the 100% obvious choice, each had a tradeoff (good price but not the best selection of products, or great selection of products but bad pricing and not being that trustable, etc.)
I did go with directi, but I have to say, wildwest almost had me until I read about how they emailed all their resellers's clients a month or so ago with an ad for godaddy, that pretty much killed them for me, I would have signed up with them pretty fast otherwise, they really lay it out so well and make it seem so easy, I would have paid the $99 setup fee and paid a bit extra for their domains for their selection and seeming user-friendliness.
