I'd like to thank all of you for your outstanding feedback. Some of you may remember some of my questions, starting with what servers to buy, where to colo, some software issues, etc. Here is the final chapter, what I did:
I currently lease a dedicated server with Interland, wanted to go colo. Inquired, researched, ended up doing the following:
Purchased 2 x Dell PowerEdge 2550's (both dual 1 gig processors, web svr 1 gig ram, sql svr 2 gigs ram)
Decided to go with VenturesOnline for colo (highly recommend, it's been an awesome experience and the connection flies)
Decided on IMail for the mail server
Decided on Lyris ListManager for mass mailling capability
Servers are live http://www.nc-software.com and you can see for yourself how fast the sites are. VenturesOnline was very speedy in the setup from time of arrival to live, and I only had to embarrasingly ask for a reboot once, which is done via web support, and was faster than any reboot call I ever made to people at Interland.
It's been a lot of work, it's been a lot of money, but in the long run, I certainly think this is the way to go!
Good luck to the rest of you. I will be continuing to learn from you in this forum, but wanted to close the book and tell you all how my story ended.
Thanks!!!
