I wish I knew about this forum before I joined up with Donhost!

They Started deleting my clients accounts when there was nothing wrong with them (eg, a photo of the webmasters new born son = porn to donhost)

Anyway, I stoped my account on the 29th or 30th day to get a refund as it says 30 Money Back G.

It rolled over to the next month and I was charged again, I have emailed enough times but my account is still open.

I think I am going to have to ring my Banks Mastercard line to dispute the charges now....

Maybe we should start a site www.donhostwarning.com and wanr other users!

If you contact MasterCard directly, they will be able to perform a chargeback for you - to recover the money that you rightfully own.

Good luck,
Matt

Hi,

I have been a customer of Don Host in the past and always read with interest people’s views on the company. I left myself due to the poor support and worse control panels.

After reading what you said about the picture of the baby I was horrified and decided to test Don Host so I E-Mailed them asking them about their bad reputation and how they delete files and accounts for no reason. This is the reply I got - I sure you will find it interesting.

"Thank you for your email.

There are always two sides to a story, have you considered that the
picture may actually have been of an inappropriate nature? We do not
remove accounts for no reason, it really would not be in our interest to
do that as ultimately without customers we wouldn't be here! We do
however police our network very carefully, which is why we have
faultless uptime and performance.

If you are clear about what we are offering and repect our AUP and the
need for us to enforce it, I am sure you will be delighted with Donhost.
There is a full 30 day money back guarantee for your peace of mind"

I'd just like to point out at this time that perhaps Callum you need to get something in writing from them right now regarding that "photo". If pushed I would recommend pursuing the matter through the police and/or trading standards yourself.

It sounds to me like Donhost should have called in the police if they were really THAT concerned. The fact that they don't appear to have done so, is somewhat worrying or otherwise grist to the mill.

Any other discussion on the topic is moot as I'm just happy where I am... i.e. elsewhere...
