Hey everyone...
I'm wondering if there are any hosts out there that offer CF and PHP on the same server. I'm a fair hand at PHP but I've been doing some work in CF at my day job over the last few days and MAN is it easy to use. I would LOVE to convert some of my sites over to CF. MySQL would be the preferred choice of DB but it wouldn't be bad if they offered Access as well. I'd prefer *NIX as opposed to NT but no matter as long as I get FTP access.
Anyone?

Hey Kyle...
I found them after I posted this message. Thanks.
Are there any others? I'd like to get 3 or 4 that I can them research.
Gearhost doesn't have Access to the best of my knowledge...

That's cool...I'm not so worried about access. As long as it has mySQL then I'm cool. It's just that I've only used Access with Cold Fusion.

Access is supported ... just to clearify.
Really? wow :)
You might wanna add that on your site... since you listed mySQL and SQL 2K I assumed that that was it, but theres one more reason to go with Gearhost...

Anyone have any other hosts in mind? I'd love to find one soon.
I can't get to gearhost.com and neither can any of my 8 locatons :(

So it sounds like really you need a host which servers Cold Fusion on a *nix back end. This should be really easy to find. I'd check out Tophosts.com and do a search. I'm sure you'll dig up something.
On a aside, why do you like Cold Fusion over PHP? Just curious. I learned both PHP and Cold Fusion at the same time and I found PHP to be a bit easier in terms of variables and logic in general. But I must say, Homesite, to me, is the best HTML IDE all 'round, quickly followed by Quanta Plus.

I find CF MUCH easier to work with. I don't think it's quite as powerful, or as flexible as PHP but for the level of programming that I have, CF is more than enough.
That's one of the reason why I'm looking for a host that has both. I want to have the most options possible. If I need a small or mid-level site with some assorted DB connectivity, I can build the whole thing myself in Cold Fusion. If I have a site that needs lots of bells and whistles, then I'll find those bells and whistles for free in the PHP scripts at www.hotscripts.com or get someone to program it for me.

Just thought I would resurrect this thread. Has anyone heard of any more hosts that offer these services?
I've tried to contact Gearhost.com as it looks like they're the best but they have not returned the email I sent them last week.

nexpoint.net have access, php, CFM and MSSQL 2000 (NOT MySQL).
I know they offer 'Unmetred' account in their special account, but they are good, ive been with them for a few months now.
Also go to a webhost dir and do a search, if you dont trust the companies you find in the search you can always search em up here, and post a thread about them asking for opinions.
