Hi,
I have got a raq 4 and up to now I have had now problems with .httaccess but about a week ago I got some complaints saying that they could not access their site anymore !!
So it turned out that the sites were accessible again if you removed the error doc from the line ...
So far, understandable ....
But I've just found out that on some sites it still works !!!!
I have not changed any settings it just seems to have done it by it self !
I have heard about the Override All function and I have searched the httpd.conf for it and it has got it no where, is it supposed to have it somewhere ???
I have also compaired 2 different sites on which one it works but not on the other. The virtual host seettings are the same ...
Please help me I'm completly lost and don't understand why this has happened ...

Hoot, well it is somewhere, just not there. The Override line you mentioned is in access.conf. I'm not sure about your problem, but I thought I'd just let you know this.

I've just checked to make sure that AllowOverride All is set everywhere and it was !
Has anyone got any idea why this could be happening ?
Could it be something to do with file permissions or owner problems??

No !
All I did was add 2 aliases (one so that www.domain.com/domain/domain2.com allowes you to see a site before the dns is changed ) and 1 for phpmyadmin from any site. This was about 3 weeks ago and I got my first complaint 5 days ago !
