That's right, the title says it all. Malevolent Hosting is proud to introduce its colocation offer to WHT users only! We are offering you the lowest prices for a limited time only then price will go up, so catch it while you can. As you can tell, this is not up on our site because like I said, this is only to WHT users for now, so get it while it lasts.

Bandwidth: Savvis/BTN mix.

Location: Chicago Equinix.

Bandwidth price: $17 per mbps on 95% measurement.

Port size: We can customize your port size to whatever you want, so you can have 25 mbps port (for unmetered purposes) or you can even have 100 mbps port for burstability.

SLA: 100% network uptime

Rackspace:
$30 / rack unit (each U comes with reboot port)
$550 / half rack (21U) which includes 20 amps and 20 reboot ports.

120GB HD
$250/month - 3 month term, owned afterwards.

Sorry I didn't realize I that posted that a full rack is 42U it's really 45U.
Ppeople have been asking the same questions so I decided to add this:
How much is cPanel? cPanel is $15 per month.
How much is windows? win2k3 is $20 per month.
What if I have my own space? We can provide a cross connect but cross connect fees apply. It's $250 setup and $200 per month (what equinix charges).

If you have any other questions please email me at yazan@mav-hosting.com.

Thank you.

There's no IP at this time since we have no customers on this network. I will post a test IP as soon as I get one.

Thank you.

Is this with Steadfast Network? What is your ASN?

We get bandwidth through steadfast to get lower costs than going direct with the carriers.

There will also be Cogent in this mix from what I understand from Karl..

No there's no Cogent at this time, please don't break the forum rules by posting assumptions that you heard. This is an offer not a discussion thread.

There's a possibility of adding Global Crossing and nLayer in the mix, this is just a possibility at this time.

OK, Let me make a few things clear here. This customer is using Steadfast Networks bandwidth which is Savvis, BTN, and Cogent added into the mix. These prices are impossible without Cogent being added into this mix. When you buy this bandwidth you will eventually see Cogent.

I'm not trying to ditch anyone I'm only trying to provide the facts in this matter. Not allowing the customer know that they are getting Cogent is misleading.

Cogent is currently fixing to be lit shortly.

I'm not posting any assumptions that have been heard. I'm posting the facts that come directly out of the horses mouth (Karl). Which you just got done stating that your getting this bandwidth from Steadfast Networks and Karl owns Steadfast Networks. Don't you think he would know his network better then you?

I would just like to note that we do have multiple bandwidth/network options available...

Ok so now you're making things clear? Sorry, I thought I was the one making the offer here.

When you say I'm misleading people, you're calling me a liar. I said there's no Cogent in the mix, so that does not mean I'm lying to people, it simply means there's no Cogent in the mix. Is that hard to understand?

What do you have against Cogent? They're a strong provider in the industry, nothing wrong with them. They have a VERY strong presence in Chicago, and frankly, are BETTER than the other carriers in their class. (ex. HE.net, BtN) So if indeed, there was Cogent being added, it would do nothing but improve the network.

BitOMagic is under the impression that he knows everything, however does not have any details on our offering. What we BGP on our own side, has nothing to do with an offering from Steadfast. Yes, we purchase bandwidth from Steadfast, whether that bandwidth is premixed with steadfasts carriers, or mixed on our side with exclusive choice of who we use, is NO INFORMATION that BitOMagic would know.

This thread is meant for sales questions, not to bash the company. Please refrain from posting on here unless it's a sales question.

Thank you Karl for posting, things should be clear now.

These prices are impossible without Cogent
Guess you haven't looked at industry pricing lately - Cogent isn't all that competitive anymore, both Savvis and BTN can be less expensive than Cogent and can be better quality in many locations. I'd say that this is a VERY good deal.

Thank you for your input Matt, I didn't bother going in detail about that because this isn't a discussion thread. Feel free to start a thread in the colocation forum.

Cogent is not in the same class as HE or BTN by any stretch. We have real peering with real networks and don't just slough off bandwidth to GX when we get around to it a few hours after our peering connections die. We have lost some customers to the barbarian Cogent since they rolled their special out. All but one of them have come screaming back.

For the record-- there are ways to sell under theoretical cost (even without the vomit that is Cogent) and Karl is not the only person doing it... A certain someone is selling at $9/Mbps in ASH and there is no cogent there.
