Chicken 02-07-2002, 10:33 PM Price to buy or price to rent? goodness0001 02-07-2002, 10:33 PM sorry about that, i meant to rent...when some bandwidth...I dont expect the amount rackshack gives but general prices... pitchford 02-07-2002, 10:55 PM Roughly speaking: $125 /month I'm using http://www.vortechhosting.com/ service is excelent... However, I'm affraid I must give up my RaQ. I'm in need of a Windows box. And to my knowledge they don't offer windows hosting (or at least that cheap) Tommy Chicken 02-08-2002, 12:33 AM I might bump that up to $150-$175-ish if it had a bit of transfer included, and depending on if it was a RaQ3 or 4, the config - HD and memory, etc. I was actually just pondering this as I have a RaQ3, 8.x HD (small), 64MB of RAM (which is crap, I'd have to get more). I'm debating whether to colo it somewhere, sell it on ebay (for probably nothing, not sure what they are worth to buy exactly), or rent it out. We need more estimates with figures included and type. I'll have to go check out some of the usual suspects and see what they list at. goodness0001 02-08-2002, 02:16 PM Thanks, for the input, i thought between 150-175 for a raq was good with about 20-40 GB of bandwidth... DelusionalMi 02-09-2002, 05:16 AM i'm currently getting a raq4 with 512 ram and 30 gig HD with 325 gigs transfer on a dual oc-48 line for $325 a month :) skylab 02-09-2002, 06:48 PM RAQ4i with 512mb RAM / 20gb HDD / 65gb bandwidth / 2 IPs initial per month / on dual T1(with an upgrade in progress) = $100 per month + $100 initial setup + flat fee for my upgrade from 128 to 512mb RAM. i've been with them for almost 6 months, and true, they don't have the fastest connection, their network stability has been outstanding and what little help i needed from them (these are UNMANAGED RAQs) came quickly and precisely. email mike@serverrack.net to contact them for pricing. they're(at this very moment) in the middle of a network upgrade, so, the RAQ their site(http://www.serverrack.net/) is on is doing strange things. i have experienced no downtime(so far, knock on wood) with my RAQ during their network upgrades. |
