Ok now that XMB has closed it doors, and Vbulletin still has that outrageous pricing scheme, I need to find a new set of scripts...

Any reccomendations??? No Ikonboard, Yabb or any other resource hogs.

vB isn't ourtrageous..... Actually, its at just a good price, its enough to help pay support staff, and promote development.

oBB (http://www.openbb.net)

Actually, many of my complaints about oBB are being fixed.....

heh, I tried oBB twice, and twice it failed. The database self destructed both times... kept getting an error like -h something or another.

I would not pay 85/yr either...

It would be better if you bought in at 160, with a 35 dollar annual payment. (FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT)

To me, the only other GOOD option is phpBB RC-2

Good Luck

I think burning board is excellent. Evan better than phpBB2. (although I sure hope the version 2 comes with DB backup option...)

I share that opinion, though I think that MercuryBoard (http://www.mercuryboard.com) looks promising.

I personally vote fore vbullitin, it's not the expensive considering the amount of effort they put in and support.

phpBB2 is tops

Burning Board is a very close second, provided they get a proficient speaker of English to work on the text elements.

Ikonboard is finally switching to PHP? About time, I'll have to look into switching from Burning Boards.
