Hey all.......
I've been thinking pretty heavily about Gearhost, so last Friday I sent an email off to Ryan, since he had emailed me about one of my posts on the fourm. No reply....
So on Monday, I emailed another letter to support@gearhost.com... its Thursday, and no reply yet.
I understand that they're swamped, but a week response time for a reply to a potential customer is pretty bad IMHO...
Have other people been having this problem? I really like the plans that Gearhost offers, and I probably will end up hosting with them, but just not if I can't get a response back from their support team, or ryans email.

If you are in north america, try the toll-free number. I seem to be one of the only ones to have any luck with email (and phone) but I would try giving them a call if you can :)

You have two options at this point, either look for another host, or assume the email ended up where the other sock ends up in dryer-mystery land (and resend the email).
I've been with Gearhost since December 2001, and I have had no problems with their support. They implemented a new Support Ticket System in January 2001, and it is their prefered method of contact.
I don't even email them at support@gearhost.com anymore. Instead, I go to the following website:
http://www.gearhost.com/customercare/ticketmgr/
I log in using my username & password. I create a new ticket, and they respond in 24 hours or less. I sent in a request this morning and within an hour my request was taken care of.
If you PM me, I can forward you a copy of the email message they sent regarding their Ticket System.

THE ONLY WAY TO GET A RESPONSE FROM THEM IS TO CALL

DONT EMAIL,,,,, CALL 24/7

Not keep this thread going when the point is endless ;) but if you have a sales request we just got back online and restructured our response times and protocol for answering sales requests. We're at about 4 hours to answer sales requests. If you sent your request within the last three days and didn't get a response send it again, it's been deleted. You can via email or the online contact form or call us.
I understand everyone's frustration in getting sales calls answered but our team is swapped with another version of iControl, Linux plans, pricing, support, etc. Our sales response times do not in anyway reflect our support times. But as Mester said if you have a question just call us, it's faster and easier in the long run.
Thanks, this explains a lot. Check your PMs :)
