I host somone of my own person website on my raq and ran into a problem yesterday (by far, not my first).

I want to have the same email address on 2 different domains, such as:

kmurrey@domain1.com

and

kmurrey@domain2.com

but the Raq tells me the name already exist. Is there a way to allow for the same name on 2 different host?

Option #1:
Don't set up a catch-all (if you don't know what it is, then you probably haven't) for the second domain. Anything sent to kmurrey@domain2.com will end up in the kmurrey pop box.

Option #2:
You have a user set up in domain2 correct? Doesn't matter if it is a siteadmin or not, any user will do. For that user (for example username is kmurrey2) you create an alias: kmurrey and everything delivered to kmurrey@domain2.com or kmurrey2@domain2.com will end up in kmurrey2's pop box.

I think I worded that wrong.

Like I said I have about 10 domains on my raq, most of them are my own sites.

For instance:

I have an email address of kmurrey@thisdomain.com

I have an email address of kmurrey@thatdomain.com

I setup my first account with the email of kmurrey@thisdomain.com, but when I try to setup an email for kmurrey@thatdomain.com it says the name is already in use.

Can't I tell the server that kmurrey@thisdomain.com is not the same as kmurrey@thatdomain.com??

Don't create username with that name, using ALIAS facility.

sample :

domain1.com :
-username : mydomain1
alias : kmurray

domain2.com
- username : mydomain2
alias : kmurray

it's simple

My customers always ask similar this problem.

What giza wrote is another way of saying OPTION #2

If you do not actually want to check two different boxes, and all you really want is email addressed to kmurrey@anydomain.com to end up in one place, you'll want to do:
Option #1:
Don't set up a catch-all (if you don't know what it is, then you probably haven't) for the second domain. Anything sent to kmurrey@domain2.com will end up in the kmurrey pop box.

Thank you both for your comments. That is exactly the answer I was looking for.

Sorry, Chicken, you might have answered it but I didn't fully understand until Giza's comment.

But this will fix my problem.

Thanks again!

that's ok, sometimes another way of saying it helps... (that and sometimes I've either had too much coffee or not enough, or it's too late or too early :D)
