Hey,
I am in need of a layout template for a gaming site. So it will have to have enough space for content. I was just wondering if anyone is good at gaming site templates? Or could make one at a decent rate.
Thanks a lot.
Tom

I could definately do this for you, and I believe in an attractive way, however I'd require some more specific information. Is this a site with reviews/news/downloads? Or is this a site about a specific product, or is it a a community-based site with forums, etc. I think most good designers will require some more info to come up with something unique and attractive. E-mail me at webmaster@azaloth.com if you're intrested in what I have to offer. I am currently working on this site for a friend:

It is simple but showcases some of what I can do. I created the entire thing including the small Flash portions. I have also created this site for an Ultima Online gaming clan:

(There are two "sub-sites", Ultima Online (UO) and Dark Age of Camelot (DAoC), they are very different from one another so check them both out).

Fractious, it isn't all about the lowest price, its about quality. How can you serve a full customised template which has taken quality time to make for about only $15?? - This sort of behaviour is what drive these great designers out of the industry.

We (Nine-One) have made several gaming and gaming type layouts, please take a look at the following:

http://www.hardextreme.org (hardware, but fits your needs)
http://www.game-control.com/ (Design is up, site is not)

This design might also give you an idea:

Our [makeshift] portfolio is at http://uc.nine-one.net

Please PM or email me through WHT if you would like to discuss this further.

That is an interesting observation Chewnet! All I know is on the 3rd of this month, I emailed him about one of his spectacular "LOW PRICED LOGO"... Which turned into his offer of designing a "TEMPLATE" FOR THE VERY LOW PRICE OF 80.00
I took him up on it, wanted to see what he could/would produce.

Have I seen a template yet??? NOPE

I think it is utterly disgusting to do stuff like this... don't think it would be very wise to waste any more time on that template for us Jay... (if you even started it) You should of at least sent an email saying you were swamped or SOMETHING.

This sort of thing will ruin you before you get started good!

Have a nice day!

Steve

P.S. I appologize for intruding on your thread Errmmm-Hi, and I get no pleasure from saying what I said, but it had to be said

Wow,

Those are some real nice designs Relyc... I'm actually quite interested in some of them, but $$$ is not an option at the moment... and spending too many hours on my current site make it too much of a hassle to switch...

I have a good question tho...

Say I have a site I just spend say, 200 hours on converting from a previous template / design. Is there an easier way of doing this besides taking each page and actually coding it over? I mean, I have a template in frontpage and just copy and paste and change colors, but still it has taken a very long time to do everything (i have a big site)...

Do the webportals like phpnuke, etc help? I hear those make updating a site a lot easier, but are those any good? It seems that all sites that run on php/postnuke all look the same, is the look not customizable? Sorry, rather off topic, but related - kinda =)

At any rate, I'd like to know what the going rate for a template is and if it's cheap enough, I may order one, or trade for an ad on my site.

A bit slow and image intensive if you ask me. Took around 8-10s to load on a 512kbps cable modem....verrrry baaad.
