If any of you guys need a free dedicated server, let me know..( by the way, this is directed to the owners of directories ) incase you all think i have gone mad lol.

We have our own NOC, with connectivity from carrier one and Xo communications.

why is it free?

In exchange for advertising, i.e sponsoring the the directory by providing your dedicated server and bandwidth needs

By directories i mean web host directories

I would like a free server please.

Would www.tgnetwk.com qualify for one of these free servers?

This offer is available to commercial directories only please i.e ones that currently have active advertisers.

Anyone look at optix's profile? He responds to nearly 20 threads a day, each with an idiotic comment of some sort. Optix, read the @*($%(#($(# threads before you respond to them, you've been posting for like a week now that you're in the market for a dedicated server, but you clearly aren't because you've asked like 2-3x and gotten MANY reasonable offers, but said "i want something around $50/mo.". You need to get a grip on reality man.

porcupine, calm the hell down buddy! I did read this thread and I don't mind having advertising on my sites. A free server is good. What is it that I don't understand?

And asking for a server for $50....that was a long time ago and after I learned the prices........BECAUSE WE'RE NOT ALL F***ING PROS AT FIRST............then I know now that $50 can't be done.

And where are these reasonable offers I keep apparently getting procupine? You mean the offers of those fricken reseller accounts and those stupid hosting accounts that do me dick all? Yeah those aren't good reasonable offers. Those are pathetic pleas to sell me their hosting at crappy prices. I want a server not a 5mb hosting account!!!!!!!

So why don't you grow up and stop smashing me. I'm sure when you knew nothing, you had the same questions as me.

Optix, consider a few things

- Why did porcupine make that post?
- Why has your email been banned?
- Why are admins changing your sig?

The free server is not for any old site, read the ******* thread before replying! And read it properly.

You seem to change your needs on a hourly basis, ok you may not need a reseller account, but others may - just because you want a $20 / month dedicated server doesn't mean that others shouldn't be allowed to request / view different offers.

If you have been reselling for 4 years, as you said in another post, then you should know more than you do.

They're not looking to give you a free dedicated server if you put up banners for them, they're looking for a PROFESSIONAL hosting portal, directory, etc. A listing of dedicated/hosting sites, so they can get advertising to the right people, not just any guy looking for a dedicated server.

I'd live to see it. Stop wasting everyones time, and go read your old post, and pick a provider, almost everyone messaged you, except the ones who by reading your message knew you'd be more trouble then your $$$ is worth.

The facility is coming along great, theres a few pains in my buttox, it's a lot more financing then i originally expected, but exactly as i learned in school, take whatever you expect, and multiple it by a 4 or more. I'm looking to take pre-orders so we know give or take how many pc's to start putting together to start it off in a week or two :). We've got nice amd xp 1700's lined up, and what else can i say, i hope it all works out :P.

As a reseller, why should I have more knowledge then I have? Reselling is simply clicking, opening the accounts, and having them setup. A dedicated server is completely different.

Do you feel better now? My website address is no longer showing up because the "admin" told me that I was advertising my site all over the forum. I was not doing this but they didn't understand. When people asked about business reports, I said "hey, I have 5 of them for free on my site if you want". I WOULD NOT MAKE MONEY, BLAH BLAH BLAH. but whatever...I don't mind though, I don't really want this business from here anyways. I'm here for knowledge (and free servers). haha.

I will win. Since being here I have gained knowledge. I only waste those people's time that waste my time. You know...to even it out a bit.

If someone is going to offer me a server for $99 that includes 40GB, 600GB transfer, etc. Then gets me all excited and ready to order then after answering many questions, he suddenly says "whoops, i didn't mean $99, I meant $499". This is not a typo. This is on purpose because I've had many many people do this. :angry:

tuvok, apologies for hijacking your thread, but its such a strange one anyway - why not just directly approach the 'hosting directories' you would like to deal with. ;)

I'd love to pay $50 per Mbps, but Level3, UUNet, Qwest, TW and whoever else need to make a profit too, so can't sell it at that price.

Did you post part of your thread twice for dramatic effect or something i missed? Noone was offering you 5mb accounts, or 600 gigs for $99 then saying "oh, that was $499". If you're unsatisfied with the variety of offers being made to you, then STOP changing your mind, your needs, and your posts every ten minutes.

When you look for something at $50/mo, people will post their corresponding plans that are in that price range. People are being forgiving by doing that, because for $50/mo you get a reseller plan, NOT a dedicated server, and they're doing you a favor by letting you know *what* you can get for $50, not goin "what you want is $899 a month".

BTW, people dont post dedicated servers with 600 gigs for $99 then switch it to $499, its a much more serious market then most, and stupid little trickery and such tactics would only scare off customers, theres no benefit for a host to do that, so dont pretend people are.

optix, I think you should realize that you are posting more than appropriate. To me, it seems like you are just trying to get post count up. Over 100 posts in a month, come on, I have to get suspicious myself. Especially considering some of your posts were not exactly constructive.

I can understand that as a newbie(well, with over 100 posts), you are excited and want to earn your place in the forum. But posting unconstructive posts is not the way to go here.

I am sure you understand that as a long time user of this forum, I want the best for the forum, and I don't mean to insult you personally. This is a great place, and both you and I can contribute to it.
