Hi,
I'm looking for an openSRS reseller to transfer my .co.uk and .org.uk domains to as my current register is charging me a fortune to control my nameservers. All the openSRS resellers I've found so far (and I admit it's not many) only let you transfer .com/.net/.org to them. On a side note I'm also looking for an openSRS reseller to transfer .biz to but that's not quite as important.
Thanks a lot,
Tom

Use 123-reg.co.uk or ukreg.com they are cheaper (Sterling 6 per 2 years plus VAT, OpenSRS is $13 = about Sterling 9.40 at today's rate).

Do they let me have full control over the name servers though? I'm with UK2.net at the moment and they charge me about 17UKP (about $23) just to have control over my name servers for a year  Needless to say I'm not happy it and I want out but without moving to somewhere else who will charge me just to specify name servers
edit: it says on the UKReg FAQ:
I have moved a UK domain to UKReg using the Transfer domain option. Why cant I get the domain onto the Free Services?
Only domains registered through UKReg can use the free services. Domains transferred into UKReg can only be parked with UKReg.
Does this mean if I transfer my domains to UKReg then I can't change the name servers? If so this would be a complete waste of time! This is starting to give me a headache, why can't people just be up front with their pricing (then I'd have never gone with UK2)

Yep. UK2 are really really awful, get out as soon as you can.

No, it just means you don't get forwarding of mail or web, you can change the nameservers fine. We use UKReg and do this all the time, no probs.
So as long as your domains are hosted somewhere (which they must be from what you say) you will be fine.
It's much easier to transfer into UKReg than 123 -- you only need to get the IPS Tag changed (and yes, I think UK2 will charge you 19 quid plus VAT for this, unlike most people who do it free...). With 123 the admin contact gets mailed by 123 for approval -- and it's very hard to find who that is for a .uk domain so the move gets delayed...

Hmmm, I've just read this http://forums.uk2.net/showthread.php?threadid=9615 which would mean I would keep them with UK2 for the moment (the only reason I wanted to move them was I couldn't really afford to pay the £17)
We'll have to wait and see what happens now, if they try and revert to the UK2 holding page I'll be very, very annoyed, hopefully it won't be like that though ;) I've had the domains with UK2 for longer than 2 years and, if I remember rightly, the £19 + VAT is if you move before two years is up
btw anybody wanting to see what people think about UK2 should look at http://forums.uk2.net/forumdisplay.php?forumid=19 which is the 'domains' forums where almost every single post is 'Trouble moving away' :D

If your just looking for a UK registrar who is a nominet member, has a control panel for dns admin, and who doesn't have any silly admin/release charges give me a shout.
Do a search on dejanews if you want some customer comments :-)
