Welcome to the discount dedicated server world!

That money you saved on the dedicated server is nice though ain't it? :D

I use RS too, I feel your pain :bawling:

I'm opening up my own data center (haha ok let's call it a "mini data center") soon so I don't have these 3 hour reboots anymore.

The IRC chat does not work because RackShack was DDosed.

Although RS maybe discounted, however for the price the service is great. I haven't seen any dedicated host, who has 24/7 Chat and Phone Support for such a low price.

Come on guys, If you are with Rackshack, you should be competant enough to Administrate a linux server without needing support from RS support other than for any hardware problems.

RS Offer limited support, (which is reflected in your monthly fee) for simply DNS configurations if you choose to use their DNS solution.

If you want 24/7 Tech Support to run your business for you, go for an Alabanza server or simular solution!

What if the problem is with the network or a hard drive?

You don't even know what thebigH's problem is yet. It seems premature to judge his admin skills.

I purchased a new AMD WBL a few days ago, everything is setup and working, I've had no problems. That's because I understand that it is a self-managed dedicated server, and not managed hosting like Rackspace.com. I've got no complains for Rackshack, the network and service has been great so far.

you don't have to open your own datacenter to reboot your machine, or even reboot it sooner/quicker
