I am appalled at their service! It sucks. I have lost at least 3 clients due to them so much for paypal looking unprofessional 2checkout is unprofessional!

Ok now that thats out of the way...

I have had 3 clients try and place orders through 2 checkout and the service was down or something to that affect and the system wouldnt take their orders ok fine I can understand technical difficulties. How ever they canceled a client because his IP was in a different country than my IP. Isnt that going to be normal if the client is in a different country? I AM CONFUSED that was a 400 dollar transaction that they just canceled for no reason! Ok so contact their support and find out what the real reason is they canceled the billing... 1 day... 2 day... 3day... WTH is going on? I closed the ticket and I am looking for another 3rd party processor or maybe even my own merchant account that is BS you can at least say 'We are looking into the issue' but 3 days no response is bull.

Sorry I vented here. I wouldnt recommend 2checkout to anybody they have the worst support I have ever seen and their system goes down frequently (those three customers were at 3 different times and days) Not to mention their system is very limited in what it can do paysystems system was better until they closed everyone without warning. Anybody know of another good processor?

I've noticed alot of folks saying they've had problems with 2CO in the past several weeks. I'm not sure if they outgrew their own systems or what the problem is, but you aren't alone.

Cancelling a bill due to an IP being different from yours is very strange indeed, afterall this is the 'world wide web' you are doing business from - I don't blame you for questioning that one!

Depending on what country you are from a merchant account might indeed be your best option. You'll have more control over transactions and just as importantly you'll save money on each transaction.

btw I'd be very interested to hear what type of services paysystems offered that 2CO doesn't, I'm always taking notes lol

recurring shopping cart items was one of the big items that I liked. Also they worked alot like paypal for links and things so setting up a script was easy to do and you didnt have to actualy setup the item in the paysystems/paypal control panel you could do things like that.

I would also like to see some replacements for 2CO, we currently use stormpay and were about to get a 2CO account, this thread is making me think twice.

2co has awful customer support, buggy billing, and a limited system.

buggy billing can ruin a business
lousy customer support is just as bad, I agree

The other day I emailed them for some concerns. They never return to me. It makes me wonder though... :(

Sooner or later, it will go down the hill like PaySystems...I bet.

I have been shopping around for a decent Merchant Account.

multitaskerVic, do you provide 3rd party processing service? (based on your sig)

Be sure to tell them you need the merchant account for internet sales, there's a difference between that and others.

Once you get the merc acct, you'll be able to use any payment gateway for your transactions.

good luck! :)

I understand rain, I lived in Seattle for a year! lol

In 2003, we took 2CO to the BBB in Ohio as they consistently kept losing our money that was supposed to be wired into our bank in GB.
We were with 2CO for 2 years, and, when we first went with them they were quite small, newish, fresh, and eager for business.I recall we used to send them a mail- no silly ticketing in those days - and they would respond in an hour with a sensible reply.Exactly one year later (just as their processing escalated to huge proportions, compared with the first year)they went all to pot literally. Their staff became rude and incompetent.Their nice friendly fresh manner disappeared.
Suddenly we were getting HIGH RISK FRAUD warnings about customers who had been with us for 2 years. Then we had the regular warnings like **the IP address of this person is in the North Pole and you are in the South Pole **** Then next came the downtimes, late wires, missing wires, and finally no money at all for 4 months.
Customers were complaining to us daily about 2CO. We consistently explained to the **thick as 2 planks tied together staff at 2CO** that ALL banks in the UK had a sort code number and without this number our money would just go back to Ohio.In the end the money ping ponged back and for so much that Barclays, our bank were amazed, as this was costing us £30GB pounds everytime the money crossed the water so to speak. After 6 times it was £180 GB pounds.Get it? as they didn't!!
Then finally the BBB sent us copies of our wire relay history obtained from 2CO.Only one of them showed our GB Barclays bank address, all the others were sent to Barclays in the Bahamas,Barclays in Bermuda,Barclays in Moscow etc.etc.
What used to make us scream in desperation was when they would decide to send a ticket (about once in 10 days, compared to 100 we sent them in the same period of time)and each time they would say the same thing. **ALL MONIES OWED YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR ACCOUNT***
YES!!, we could see all monies had left our account, but where to was the problem.Eventually the BBB got all our money to us in dribs and drabs, but it took months and we lost a lot of business during that time.

In hindsight, it really is a comedy, a farce,I am sure that a film could have been made about it all, as it was truly hilarious.

Our advice to anyone thinking of joining 2CO would be to read this mail through, thoroughly digest it,then spit the pips out in the direction of Ohio!! (No offence to any Ohions)

(this might be a bit unprofessional for me to say but who's gonna tell on me lol)
After reading that and your other processing horror stories, I believe you deserve a drink for having survived it all .... sooo ... if our paths ever meet the tabs on me! lol

Glad you are all set up with Barclays merchant account and can say goodbye to all that

Unfortunately so many countries have virtually no resources for merc accts that 3rd party processing is their only avenue for processing. Having a reliable source for them is necessary.
